It was pretty amazing. But there's Shavers' and Wilder's right hands which might have been scarily more powerful (even Wilder's left hook isn't too far away from RR's imo), and I daresay Weaver (when he wasn't sleepwalking) was up there...Weaver didn't throw the left as much, but he was awe-inspiring when he landed flush. Ruddock was faster of course than Foreman, and though Frazier threw his hook faster than RR I daresay it wasn't capable of the one punch power.
Certainly an elite-tier puncher in my book. He used to disguise the smash well, until he abandoned all pretense of boxing.
No the debate was how hard he hit-not his ability to beat the best boxers. I also do not think a top shot putter-or similar athlete with tremndous muscle mass like a pro wrestler-is likely to hit as hard as most HWs in history. Maybe most under 200 lbs., but after a certain size there are diminishing returns. And few folks who are not explosive can hit with the very hardest guys.
Moorer? You mean undefeated Heavyweight Champion of the World who was in his physical prime coming of his title winning bout vs none other than Evander The Real Deal Holyfield? That guy? Thats not even worth a mention.
Power is the last thing to go agreed - but my question to you was razor ruddock in his prime and active when he fought tommy Morrison ? It’s a yes or no question on both my questions !!!! If you don’t answer then I know what your thinking anyways
Because ruddock was in his prime fighting Morrison right ? He was very active right ? Go look at ruddocks body in the Morrison bout — bloated and fat
I too find the minimization of Foreman's 45 year old title winning bout to be pretty silly. Moorer was indeed undefeated, a two class champion. Foreman knocked him cold...OLD MAN Foreman.
