Yes, he did, but had Marquez fought him at an older age in which he was more solid and naturally built, then it could've been different

How about Floyd cheated him on the scale and that helped him a lot?

... it was first Marquez fight above 135lb and it was at WW, Marquez
put a lot of weight in a short time, that affected his speed and conditioning
while Floyd did not even tried to adjust his weight, he planned to cheat Marquez
form the beginning. So even if Floyd is naturally faster he reassured himself
that he will have special advantages during the fight.

How can it be going over people's heads? Everyone know's that as you get older, you don't lose muscle, rather you are able to build it easier with hard work and time put into the gym. With an older age too, you find known steroid distributors and hire them even though he's never worked with a boxer and there are many other strength and conditioning coaches, yet with age, you know to go with this one over the rest

Sure, as a Floyd fan, what he did to Marquez was messed up, but again, he was still too young to fight Floyd. Had he waited 3 years when he was 40 and stronger and more solidly built, then the scales wouldn't have mattered. Who cares if it was his first fight above 135, when he fought poochiao in 2008 at 135, he rehydrated to 145+ so it wasn't like he's never been inside the squared circle not at 145 pounds. Floyd never weighs more than 150, that's it. Again, Marquez should've waited till he got older to fight Floyd since when humans get older, they are able to build muscle easier.

nice attempt at wit but you FAILED to mention that he CHEATED at the weight scale. And yes, JMM was fat, drinking **** and throwing rocks at the time. But it's all good, he was a lil younger so none of that matters.

LMAO Marquez was 'young and immature' at age 36 after more than 50 pro fights?

And what's even funnier is that at the time, Floyd was criticized not just for fighting a smaller but also an 'old' Marquez, which sounds pretty ******ed now considering what Marquez has accompliished in the more than 3 years since. But back then there was this whole "Floyd only fights old guys" vibe going on.

Wonder what they would say if a 36 year old Mayweather would lose to a Guerrero, Bradley or Alvarez. Would ppl say that he's 'old' now??

I feel you, given the opportunity an older wiser stronger Marquez would get May's timing down and then hit him with a counter cross.

Floyd cheated on the scales against a naturally smaller fighter. Marquez should have told Mayweather to go **** himself and not gone through with the fight. Mayweather would have been out a paycheck and out of money to pay the IRS. Mayweather would have gone to prison and cried even worse than before about the water and how he can't drink it. Hahaha what a *****.

He was still young, we all know when you get older you get bigger and stronger. Marquez should've waited till he was 40 to fight Floyd. He fought poochiao young and lost 2 times and drew one, he had to wait till he was almost 40 to finally get a Win
