in todays Boxing era where a loss or losses are extrememly detrimental and take time to overcome i think it will be hard for him to do anything more because it will take time and probally 3 or 4 more solid matches agaisnt some probally tough opposition which means more dammage i jsut dont think he has that much left in him...but it can be done look at baldomir...he got hot went on a streak and all of a sudden was in the mix and surely Cotto is far more talented and better so it would take time but definitely not as much time as it took a person like baldo.

  4. I'd go with rematch with antonio margerito and a rematch with mosley. If he didn't run those last 2 rounds things would have been differant.

If berto has balls after this mosley fight, I have imagined a match up with with those 2 for ages.

From a commercial point of view, a Marquez or hatton fight would bring in some attention and money. Seeing how in shape he was for the pacman fight i can imagine this not being impossible.

It makes me sad when I talk about Cotto, If Marg did cheat in that fight, then he could of stopped Cotto from becoming a superstar and future ATG. Imagine if he beat Marg!!

    PAULIEMAYWEATHE.

"he has fought three huge fights in his life...he is 1-2".

So, he is 29, his career ain't over yet. Wlad lost to Purrity, Sanders and Brewster, but some on this ESB board want to go on and on about Wlad being a future HOF or ATG H2H (which is bollocks). Tommy hearns lost to Leonard and Hagler, lost to Barkey by age 28-29. Not saying Cotto is on Hearns level or has as good wins as Tommy, but if Margocheato really cheated, you got to take that into consideration. I believe Cotto is good enough for at least HOF analysis.

cotto's quandry is this. he's bumped his head into the ceiling, and now thru the pain of it must decide if the ceiling he hit really exists.
that is he ran into p4p1. he has on his resume a win over mosely. mosely planning on using his fight with berto to catipult himself into position to challenge the winner of mayweather vs. pacquiao.
cotto with his win over mosely has himself a ****** wrench to throw mosely way should mosely beat berto.
if cotto chose to pose as an obstical for mosely, the question is would he do so with the intention of going on to test the ceiling again should he beat mosely for a second time. or would he be satisfied just proving that mosely, unimpeded would only end up bumping his head into the ceiling in similar fashion.
if he doesn't want to fight margorito in the meantime cotto would probably do well to take a lesser bout before the end of april. he could do this against the guy who has become the gatekeeper for the division collazo.

a good reason to choose collazo is that collazo has a 12rd decision loss to berto. therefore, an impressive victory over collazo for cotto would further strenthen a position for cotto to challenge the winner of mosely vs berto, regardless of that fights outcome.
