chhers PP and dempsey i really like Loghran Demspey as you sent me some footage of 1 of his fights and him sparring i was impressed a bit like a littler Tunney IMO who used his jab alot more. PP some good anmes i dont know enough about i like Lopez he is amazing same with Boza Edward hes quite a skilled boxer, the rest i have just afew of there fights
Depends on what style you're interested in. For the consumate boxer/technicians, who may not thrill you with the big ko punches, or blood and guts trench warfare, I would suggest Harold Johnson..Willie Pastrano...Tommy Loughran..Miguel Canto..Billy Conn.. for aggression, blood and guts and slugging, Carmine Basilio..Gene Fullmer...Jake la Motta.., nonstop windmill volume punching, Fighting Harada...Henry Armstrong, a versatile mechanic, Emile Griffith.., a strong pressure fighter, Dick Tiger,.sheer defensive brilliance, Wilfred Benitez..Nicolino Locche...Sweetpea Whitaker, and my 4 favorite all time greats (all from the 70's) Wilfredo Gomez..Ken Buchanan...Jose Napoles ...Carlos Monzon..and I've left out so many more.

Yes, exactly. I've always been more appreciative of the guy who does the subtle stuff that everyone may not either understand (took me a long time to), and who may be thought of as "over-technical", who may not score a ko evrytime out, and may be a "decision fighter", and yes, the "runners" do not necessarily equate with "skill", you know? I've learned that a guy may not be a "dancer", but can be very subtle and effective. What styles do you tend to prefer?
Thank you sir..I've loitered around in the Lounge a bit too long, and really prefer this Forum, where I can continue the learning process from guys like you, Duodenum, Raging Bull, McGrain, Janitor, etc., and yes, though I had headr of him for years, I finally saw Loughran only fairly recently, and he amazed me!!
I know it sounds like an old cliche, but i really do just try and appreciate high skillsets within all different styles. But on the point of what you just said there, i agree completely, watching how Archie Moore's ring craft works to a tee (when he is 'on') for me is special, he's doing things with his shoulders, elbows, dipping his chin slightly, and countering all the while, quite busy actually, i luv that kind of thing. And the one you put forward in Orlando Canizales, class, what a usage of angles to get maximium leverage on shots. When it comes to exciting fighters, it's strange, a guy like Erik Morales putting all on the line has had me more in awe thana guy like Mosley who is highly skilled and varied in his offense, not sure why. But Shane is a warrior as well
