He did receive undue hype, but that doesn't make it unlikely he knocked out Khan in sparring. Nor would he necessarily be horribly out of his depth against Rios. (although I still would and did before favor Rios, in a war). It isn't like Bam Bam is a slick boxer or anything. Gesta was exposed by Vasquez, but not in a way that Rios could also exploit. If light-hitting Vasquez had checked his chin, then I could see ridiculing the idea of Gesta vs. Rios, but in reality it would be a slugfest between two guys about even in terms of skill. (Rios just has more firepower)

I think I took some guff for suggesting he and Mark Jason Melligen were about the same level and had the same ceiling. (which I didn't intend to necessarily be a compliment or insult toward either, just an observation - but some Pinoys got their feathers ruffled and thought it was absurd to put Gesta "down" on Melligen's level...well...)
They were saying Rios was ducking him :rofl:nut I saw his ass fight on the undercard for Rios Antillion and knew right there mother ****er was all hype, he got tagged with so many right hands, now when your a young fighter like that and get nailed with that many right hands, your Defense is ****. You have to have a solid defense in this game doesnt have to be Mayweather like but you should have a good defense if you plan on calling out fighters like Rios

Anybody who believes that is an idiot and probably believes that Khan really was Pacquiaos sparring partner as well. Lies lies lies Gesta wasnt ****, Khan well over rated using Pacquiaos name and his status in the UK to sell himself here in the states it worked for a little bit though he made some money....
