Can't believe how quickly that year has gone. Really, really sad how it all ended. Hope he's at peace now

What a sad loss. He was such a nice guy and avery skilled boxer. He was by far my favourite Irish boxer at that time despite his limited experience in the Pro ranks.

I actually found out the sad news on this website and felt utterly sick.

Such a great Talent and a great guy

Loving the pictures, Well done lads, brings nice touch to the thread.

Thanks for all comments so far. Nice to know through all the banter and arguing people can unite and pay respects to a fallen pugilist.

Some really classy words, fitting tributes and great choice of pictures guys; all for a worthy Celtic Warrior. He was another example of, for want a better phrase a fighter of contradiction- in the ring he was tough, fierce, strong a come forward banger that suits the pro game to the tee and gets us fans on our feet in ovation win lose or draw. Out of the ring a well natured, considerate, personable young man who amongst a sport full of the old cliches and b/s artists was a joy to listen to.

What's the phrase? "Form is temporary, class is permanent" Darren Sutherland has eternal class, may he rest in upmost peace.

*I must say whether its going out for post-fight night session or when discussing tragedy such as these, boxing fans are the best on earth

    Great thread lads.

He was a star in the making without a doubt. Really likable chap whose loss is still felt. RIP Dazzler.

    Can't believe it's been a year already :O

Never knew or met him but followed his brief career, seemed a genuinely nice guy.

I still remember being stunned when I read about it. I'd just assumed that he'd have been competing with DeGale in the pro ranks down the line in a big 'domestic' rivalry.

2 years wow time flies :-(

What a shame it was how things could have been different.....

Watching the videos I always forget that endearing high pitched blend of Irish and Caribbean and whatever else it was always made me smile had a very gentle and charismatic but humble personality.
