if 8/11 is a good price Monroe then think about he was 5/1 for the first fight! That was a good price, this is a leave alone price for me.

8/11 just isn't quite good enough.

Those are the odds for Rhodes to beat Small, which is a much more clear cut fight.

I dunno, I actually fancy Small to cause the upset against Rhodes.
Many people are underestimating Small cause he's a ****, but he's not a bad fighter and may have enough to get the better of an old Rhodes.

On the other hand I fancy Munroe quite strongly to win this.

By the way on the European Super-Bantamweight division, one of the emerging top tier fighters Jeremy Parodi fights Irish fighters Euegen Heagney on Friday. Heagney recently gave Paul Hyland a tough fight(despite Paul winning pretty much every round), he's a busy fighter who trys mainly straight punches and applies to apply pressure with his long frame and long arms.

Parodi should have enough to take this on points though, especially in France.

That's not the point, he gives away rounds and struggles against average guys. Like I said he is an ok boxer but nothing special.

I missed that altogether. If Parodi is the real deal I'd expect him to smash Heagney to bits. Hyland is an average euro level fighter. the only reason he is being mooted for a shot at Napa is because the Irish-Brit matchup is a good sell. I think he's only ranked 11 at bantam by the EBU. Heagney also got KO'd by Colin Moffett, who lets face it, isn't very good.

If Parodi is the real deal I'd expect him to win by stoppage.

In the Munroe - Martinez fight. Munroe does what he knows he has to and wins by comfortable UD. He just needs to avoid those wild swings from Martinez (as does everyone that fights him) and box his way to victory. If he was stupid enough to go toe to toe with him he'll get sparked. Martirosian buzzed Munroe a couple of times when they fought and he's not much of a puncher.

I expect Munroe to get the job done though. What he does next is anyones guess. He already turned down the world title shot. If you presume Cordoba beats Dunne then that leaves Munroe with an intersting choice. Put his money where his mouth is and have a craic at the WBA belt. Or 'play it safe' and line up a very lucrative EBU title defence against Dunne at the Point.

I'm not looking to start another Dunne-Munroe **** talking contest by the way. But both men make maximum £££ €€€ by fighting at a sold out Point Depot

Parodi isn't a puncher so while I wouldn't be too surprised if he stopped Heagney I wouldn't expect it. Hyland is an average Euro level fighter at Super-Bantamweight, at Bantamweight he'll be pretty decent. The Napa fight is a bit early for him though and a good one in terms of his career.
I reckon Napa will beat him but he'll learn a lot, and I think Paul can go on to become European Bantamweight champion and be a very good one in the future.

Heagney was stopped on his feet against Moffett, he was hurt and taking too many but it wasn't like he was sparked clean. The kid's tough, got a good workrate, an open defence which means he occasionally gets peppered but he's a tough nights work for an European Bantamweight and any European Super-Bantamweight bar the very best. Parodi has't got an abundance of good fighters on his record so at worst it'll be a good developing fight for him(even though he's probably been in with better).

If Munroe boxes he wins easily, if he stands and trades he gets knocked out. He can knock Martinez out, but only if he boxes to plan for the first 8 rounds or so and then applies pressure when Kiko is spent. If he's aggressive from the start(and juding by his interview with Buncey he won't be) it would spell disaster. But he's too smart for that. He'll box to plan and get himself another big win.

Problem is Maloney says Munroe will fight for a World title not when he can but when he's ready to win it, imo that moment just isn't going to come.
But I suppose in the mean time it makes sense on Frank's side to just keep defending that European title for as long as he can and make decent money for himself and Munroe.

I am a big fan of Rendall but I do believe the European title is decieving because for me he is still a British level boxer and not fringe world class like what the belt holder should be. Jeff was right to complain anout the lack of real quality in Europe in this division at the moment.

I am really looking forward to tonights fight and shall cheer Munroe on. Hopefully he escapes the first few rounds and than gets a clear UD. I fancy Munroe to pull off something special again soon and hopefully tonight we will see it.

I think Munroe will win in a similar fashion to the first fight, outboxing early and outfighting late.

Hopefully the judges will be watching the right fight though.......

I don't see him winning a world title, having followed his recent showings, but a long run at EBU level certainly isn't beyond him.

Maloney has the right idea, a couple more fights at this level and see where he is at..... if he beats one (or more) fellow top 20 guys he may get an opportunity.

I'm feeling a bit uneasy about this fight for Rendall. Hope he pulls through.
