Sorry but neither round 5 nor round 9 was close in my eyes. Remember, Lampley even gave them to Clottey. Both in round 5 and 10 Clottey was the aggressor, attacked constantly and Cotto had no answers. Clottey also landed more.

Cotto thought launching punches means winnin the fight. Hell, no. Landing the shots means winning the fight.

Who threw more punches, who landed more punches is entirely irrelevant. You score the rounds as they happen, not the fight as a whole.

like i said before i had it cotto 114-113....but i lost a lot of respect for cotto in this fight.....the throwing down of clottey to me looked intentional, and was a ***** move by cotto.....and that cut was not as bad as it looked imo....

If you go by punches landed then Marquez would have gotten the wins against Pacquiao...I agree with McGrain.

Clottey blocked most of Cotto's punches with the arms. I wanted Cotto to win this fight I am amazed at how this fight was scored. Cotto was walked down and hit with the more telling blows. I do think Cotto was affected by the cut and would have done better, but he should stay away from Clottey. This guy can fight. Rounds were given to Cotto just because Clottey took a breather and Cotto still did nothing to win. The outcome of this fight sets up a possible fight with Pac, and HBO knows that. Remember Delehoya vs. Sturm fight ,with Bernard waiting. Same type of decision. Just my opinion from a longtime boxing fan.

To be honest i'm the opposite, i GAINED a huge amount of respect for Cotto in the fight and lost a bit for Clottey. That really was a horrendous cut on Cotto's eye and i don't think anyone could have accused him of bitching out if he had the fight called off, cause all he had to do was say that he couldn't see to his corner and the doctor would have stopped it in a heartbeat. But alas, Cotto never complained to his corner once and simply got on with the fight as best he could. The guy is a warrior.

On the other hand, Clottey was complaining like a ***** at every bit of rough stuff that happened. The rolling about like he had been shot when Cotto gave him the little push was pathetic. It's hilarious reading all these posts calling it a 'slam'. As for people saying that Clottey took his foot off the gas in the last couple of rounds because he was so far ahead on points, can they explain why he was trying to get a point deducted from Cotto in the 12th?

    ...:patsch....

Not as bad as it looked? It was directly over his eye pouring blood the whole fight... were you watching on a stream?? If you were watching in HD it was as bad, if not worse than it looked.

too many drawn rounds, in a fight packed with this much action there is always a winner in the round!

have another look, and try and score them one way or another.... would like to see what decision you give then

and all your bull**** is all well and good but the fact of the matter is the following:

    1. clottey outlanded cotto
    2. cotto ran backwards
    3. cotto ran without landing
    4. clotttey was the aggressor
    5. when cotto ran he looked like a straight scared *****
    6. read 5 again
    7. read 5 again and laugh
    8. rewatch mosly/cotto to again see 5
    9. laugh at cotto fans defend their fighter's style
    10. demand rematch
