I don't think Audley has any regrets, really. He's done brilliantly out of that medal. Without it, would anyone have given him all these shots?

I thought he looked in really good shape when he entered the ring last night, he looked trim and for a moment I thought maybe just once audley has got his act together add the fact that his sparring partners who are supposed to be the next big thing were praising him I thought price might struggle tonight.

There's always commentary for him if he fancies I reckon.

Can't help but like the lad. It's a pity he didn't go on to do more in the pro game than he did. A great role model. If everybody in the World had Audley's attitude the World would be a much better place. Unfortunately the way the Scousers treated this humble gent of a man when he was possibly dying/seriously brain damaged sums up the modern World in all it's horrors.

I like him as a person because he's clearly a nice guy making the best of what he's got. I'd like to see him fight more limited opposition though. The dream of being a world champion is beyond foolish now. How about he fights a journeyman who doesn't hit hard?

If he wasn't so delusional he'd be worthy of a bit of pity. As it is, he's been paid handsomely for consistently failing to deliver. What's to sympathise with?

Boxing is a hard game and good luck to anyone who can self-publicise themselves into getting paid a couple of million instead of a few thousand. There's not one of us who wouldn't do exactly the same.

He won an Olympic gold, he was European champion and fought for a world title. He did more than the vast majority of boxers ever do, and good luck to him.

    EXACTLY.

Audley made it fun while it lasted, talked himself into fights he shouldnt have been involved in, but that is the cult of personality!

I honestly feel sad for him that he didnt get his defining win, his face as he left to the jeers of the crowd was just ****in horrible to watch. The pain of a man who knew he was always going to be the joke, the guy non boxing fans will make fun of...

I dont buy that Price felt sorry for him, that big stiff idiot was hopping around like he had finally arrived when it was obvious he was jealous of Audleys amateur gold IMO.
Thats why I dont like Price, hes a smug git playing the humble card to suit his agenda.

the build up to audleys fight with david haye, for me, smacked of bullying.
almost everyone against harrison, wanting to see him not only lose the fight, but to come to some real harm.
haye's threats that audley's gonna need an ambulance, there was a real ugly side to that, and haye was the cheerleader of it all.

Audley winning his Gold medal helped with future funding for the Olympic boxers. As a pro it didn't work, but everyone tuned in to see him fight. Think, it could have been a lot worse. What if he did turn professional 10 years before when Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield etc. were in their primes?

Agree 100% he somehow managed to con people into believing in him for some big pay days then didn't bother to show up on the night. Every time he sensed people were losing interest he would somehow pull a performance out the bag to tide him over to the next pay day in the ring. His name as a gold medalist and subsequent BBC exposure meant his name was a marketable asset to the casual fan. Couple that with the low risk of him ever winning and you have him as a number 1 opponent for any up and coming HW prospects promoter.

I always liked Sprott for his work rate and willingness to fight and felt sorry for him when he got sparked in the last round by Audley. He has probably made less than 20% of what Harrison has made yet came to fight every time.
Audley has provided some amusement over the years but he is no loss to the sport of boxing whatsoever. I wish him no ill will but I'm glad we won't have to listen to his bull **** ever again.
