I am also puzzled as to why Kessler pulled out of the fight. The least he could do is give a reason as to why he pulled out, but he can't even do that. I was really looking forward to seeing this fight happen.

Legally, you can be held to a verbal deal. If Showtime and Miranda wanted to pursue it, they would have grounds. Just not worth it I'm sure. All accounts said they verbally accepted.

Plus, you miss the point. They gave their word that it was a done deal. Who wants to deal with them now? You seem to think that since the contract was not signed yet, they did nothing wrong. Most disagree.

I'll never forget those negoitiations:D After all? Its where you and I became friends:good

I still feel Palle doesnt know how to do business right. Given his age and health? I dont see anything changing.

I'm not against kessler, never was, but clearly Palle could use a little help:hey

Firstly, Mundine holds Kesslers old belt.

2ndly it's very common that there are rematches, especially if something is at stake(even your own guy, Pavlik had a new match with Taylor even if he won the first decisively).

3rdly with JC being stripped eventually of the original belt, it will become the regular once again.

4th, if Pavlik and Taylor want to have fights in SMW, whom would be the best one to chose? And they aren't fighting Kessler, if he doesn't hold anything. Taylor can't make good fights anymore on his own - his name is not as marketable as it once was.

5th, Hopkins and RJJ are not very likely options in the future, as they are way past it, but lets say they are - why would they fight a beltless Kessler, that has just lost to Calzaghe? Would Miranda change this? No. Kessler needs to rebuild to be marketable in US again.

If Taylor and Pavlik decides not to goto SMW, then of course they should be removed from the list, but it will still be more attractive for Miranda, US Networks, and Kessler if the dane holds something of worth. And Mundine is still a top 3-4 SMW.

If Kessler wins the title he will get plenty of U.S. action. People, boxing is a business. His team did what they thought was best.

That's interesting. I thought Kessler just lost his WBA super champ belt to Calzaghe. I thought Mundine was simply the "regular" champ; a designation that he won after Kessler beat him for his title and unified it with the WBC title.

:good - yes, we had some heated discussions back then - but thats all good, mate:lol:. A friendship forged in the best of ways:D

Yes, I think that Palle should quit the business as well, and Kessler should get a new crew - and move to USA. I think Steward fits his style, but I would prefer a Freddie Roach.

Finally, yes I know you aren't a Kessler hater, which were also your points back when the match between Kessler and Calzaghe almost got dropped between their hands, due to two greedy promoters.

How much action has the WBA regular title gotten Mundine in the States? Who's going to give Kessler action when his fight on HBO against Calzaghe barely registered a pulse, and when he just screwed over Showtime?

Yes, but Calzaghe will drop the regular one, which will make Mundines the regular one. Mundine only got his, because Kessler was as you say superchamp.

Other than that, you are right that it's technically Calzaghe who holds Kessler original belt.

Well, if you feel this, what would make them change their minds? If Calzaghe and Kessler didn't make a pulse, no one will for Kessler.

    Off to work... bbl.

I actually like Kessler. I'm not even mad about the Miranda situation. I'm puzzled. Kessler claims he wants to make it big in the US, yet he's now on the outs with the two major boxing networks here. You can't be big in the U.S without Showtime or HBO. He could've built up his name on Showtime, then moved up to HBO.

Kessler gained my utmost respect after his perforamnce against Calzaghe. But it seems now his plan is to go back fighting unknown stiffs and hope to sell those fights as PPV in Denmark. Well may he rot in obscurity.

Miranda would have been a good fight for him, to build his name up again for bigger fights.

But in all honesty...the Kessler camp handled this one VERY, VERY poorly.
