Good list - Calzaghe should be #2 but other than that dam good.If you are basing this on recent accomplishments then swap Winky with Haye

Ya, I believe Shane is still a top guy.

He's just so competitive with everyone he fights and he usually wins.

He's not top 10, but he has accomplished so much and still fights at a high level.

I respect your opinion TFFP and I LOVE your avatar! :good

Calz would leap over both of them with a win over Hopkins...so I figure on April 20th, He'll be my #2 P4P.

Chad Dawson is my current favorite fighter as he is a local boy and I have had a few convos with him, GREAT KID!

However, he hasnt accomplished enough yet although he has PFP TALENT!

In my book, you need pfp accomplishments coupled with pfp skillz.

    He's getting there!

Wouldn't pound for pound imply like weights. Here we go again. Assumptive ratings of Pavlik at SMW before his first defense at middle weight. Give it a rest guys. WHEN he is SMW it will then be a fair game.

So Hopkins vs Clazaghe is for the #1 pound for pound spot? I think so.

Also, I think Wlad should make the cut in the top 20.

Fair enough. I was impressed with him against Cotto, he's still a player at welter and he could be a mover on my list if he beats Judah as I expect

    Thanks man :good

Nice to see he still has Juan Manuel Marquez in the mix.

I'd have Cotto higher than Marquez though based on on his victories over Mosley and Judah .

    Outside the United States?

    Well lets see:
    Calzaghe
    Manny
    JMM
    Cotto
    Vazquez
    John
    R. Marquez
    Hatton
    Calderon
    Guzman
    Margarito

Well, thats 11 out of 20 OUTSIDE of the U.S.
i'm not defending the list, just making a point, though Winky is way too high and i'm not even sure DLH is top 20 anymore.

Why do you always put "respected columnist" in front of his name, as if we are now supposed to take it as law. De La Hoya at 12, with no Haye in the Top 20 is embarrassing. Dan Rafael is nothing more than a "scoop" reporter. His boxing knowledge is very limited. He breaks news, and that's about it.

I dunno it's not Dawson's fault that people are running from him like little girls.

His last 3-4 fights he's been outstanding and a joy to watch, technically superb--- underrated power---MASSIVELY underrated ring precense for a kid----just a great all around fighter.

Antonio Tarver's lil dance around when he was mentioned was pretty disgusting IMO.

I know I don't have to sell Dawson to you...but I just think he's worthy of a top 10 ranking.

Right. Pavlik is the king of a division that clearly is inferior to 168. There's no one equivalent to Calzaghe at 160, and in my opinion there's also no one equivalent to Kessler.

Keeping the argument confined to respective weights, Pavlik likely would not fare as well against the same level of competition as Kessler would.

Pavlik should be in the top 15, not in the top 10. The problem with this list is that Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik and Wright all are too high, and thus they are feeding the overratedness of each other. The Hopkins of 2005 was not an elite PfP fighter, and certainly the 2008 version is not.

If Rafael had understood or admitted that off the top, he'd have been able to keep the subsequent matches at 160 in perspective.
