Pac, he was great in the 70s, but not enough dominance in the 80s.

Fairly close, with the edge to Pac for me

    Duran
-is considered the greatest lightweight ever
    -beat a prime Leonard
-was a four weight world champ, making numerous successful comebacks after being written off
-won a middleweight title 17 years after first winning the lightweight belt
*Being a former lightweight he gets props for being competitive against the bigger guys he fought, even though he suffered some bad losses.

    Pac
*has crushed all the bigger guys he fought, granted they weren't of Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, Benitez greatness. He started at 106
-At 31, he is the only 8 weight world champ
-has the most lineal titles (in 4 divisions)
-now won titles in 3 decades
-has astonishingly won titles in 5 divisions in only 7 fights (130-154 in a little over 2 1/2 years)
-has titles in 4 divisions in 5 fights (130-147 in a little over 1 1/2 years)
    -held titles in 3 divisions within a year, twice (130-140 in 08/09 & 140-154 09/10)
-At the lower weights he went a SRL-esque 5-1-1(3KOs) against the other members of the Fab Four of his generation (MAB, Morales, JMM)

Pac wins. He's too quick for Duran. And most are saying duran because he fought 20 years ago I dont give a ****.

I had a young friend of mine, (he's 26 I'm 50) watch some of Duran's fights on youtube and by the end he was convinced, (and he's 1/2 filopino) that the punch JMM KO'd pac with wouldn't have done the same to Duran. In fact he was stunned that Duran got up twice against Hearns before getting KO'd and even got up after that punch. Never mind the punches he took from Barkley and Moore.

Not sure why this is up for debate and why Pac is winning. You could see that there were so many *******s in 2010.

    56-54 wtf!!

Now that JMM has exiled all of them, we can finally engage in good healthy boxing discussions

    Duran = Top 10 ATG

Pacquiao doesn't make top 40. Why is this a discussion.

Duran has the better resume by far and as fighters go, Pac is an excellent one but Duran is on a different level. He was a monster man. He would eat Packies ass alive and Floyd would be in trouble too.

Pac 's ridiculously great and has a top notch resume, but no need to get carried away here. A top 12 guy vs a top 40 guy.

duran 1 big win over leonard.
duran losses to heanrs, hagler, leonard II

pacquiao beat the mexicans morales, barrera, marquez
he beat the best puerto rican around in cotto
the best uk boxer around in hatton

pac easily has a better resume than duran, the many fights duran had with opponents with bad records dont count for me.
