Why don't you take your Jones nut hugging to the other 4 like minded dimwits, and keep it amongst yourselves by PM. Only Jones d.i.c.k. riding garbage like you would claim Johnson was on the best run of his career with 6 previous fights. W 3, L 1 D 2. 6 following fights W 4, L 2. . Or do you want to conveniently forget Glen's 32 - 0 up until Hopkins? You mong. Somehow or other you even contrive to make GIMP erial appear intelligent, and that does take some doing.
I believe I told you to shove your statistics.. See above. But ill bite, beating Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver back to back, becoming the LHW champ of the world >>>>> His 32-0 MW run.. He would also give Chad Dawson all he could handle. Since I have listed what I think are his best wins by far, why don't you list his best wins at MW and we can compare them? What's the point though? It still doesn't change the fact that everyone is different, and peak at different times... My main point, is that Glen Johnson was still able to compete against the very best in the division, Roy wasn't.
44-0-2 coming in to that fight. 9 losses out of 90 fights, non of them by stoppage, 3 of those losses at ages of 43+, 5 of those losses at ages 38+, and 3 of those losses being legitimately disputed. One close loss to Drake Thadzi for which he didn't train and was way over the weight limit, another clear loss to Peter in the rematch when he was again fat and totally unfit, and the obvious loss to Jones where he came into the ring in the worst shape of his career up to that point and where his weight issues first became glaringly obvious. I'd say considering those things its probably fair to say a prime James Toney, even remotely motivated, was pretty close to unbeatable.
I agree though its not as much of a popular opinion as the other disputed losses and it was defnitely a far from stellar performance from Toney.
Agreed.I think the 2nd Griffin fight was the worst.I scored that one 116-112 for Toney yet the cards were lopsided for Montell.HBO had it 117-111 Toney.
So according to you we have a fighter of the decade and a silver mentalist (should have been gold) in boxing who doesn't know how to box. God, the bull **** agendas people have on this site. It just never stops.
Fighters who know how to box, have a lot more in their ****nals than athleticism, and reflexes, which is why they don't get KTFO by moderately talented fighters in their mid 30's, or stand there like dummies whilst their opponent drops his hands and kisses them. You are correct in one aspect, the amount of garbage that gets written on these forums by nut hugging idiots like you, GIMP erial, and Mind Fvcked is unbelievable.
You truly are lying verminous scum aren't you? You wrote than Johnson was " on the best run of his career " when he beat the steroid cheat. Now that has been proven to be palpably wrong, like true vermin you try to squirm and back pedal your way out of it. Keep on embarrassing yourself with revisionist lies ,and horse sh*t. It gets funnier each time.
Just saw this fight again. It's amazing how much better Jones was. He made Toney look like a guy who just started boxing. Just utter domination. Jones' speed, reflexes and explosion was just unreal. Dude looked liked an alien. I guess in hindsight, Jones was all wrong for Toney because Toney fights flat footed and likes guys to come at him, something Jones almost never does. Jones must've landed like 50-80 CLEAN leaping left hooks. Yeah, Jones never quite polished his fundamentals but at the same time, it does take great intelligence to utilize your natural talents the way Jones did too.
