    This is very true.

He went from one extreme to the other with those fights.

Mickey Vann and the way he refereed so many consecutive Hatton fights was a disgrace as were the refs in the Lazcano, Magee and Tsyzu fights. Cortez did err on the side of Mayweather but in virtually every other Hatton fight the ref has clearly been in his favour.

Tsyzu had a couple of controversial moments only. Nothing like a cortez style mess. The Lazcano boot lace incident was way overstated, I only saw it first time the other day and was expecting a travesty only to find well, barely anything. Don't know what you talking about with Magee, that was all straightforward, there were no issues or complaints afterwards...did you just pick a random tough fight name to make it three?

With regards to the Mayweather fight, Hatton made some fairly big mistakes himself but Cortez changed the whole dynamic of the fight. It keeps happening that fighters and trainers underrate Mayweathers infighting, he's perfectly capable (see Castillo and Hatton) but people assume he's **** just because he's a *****.

Cortez was terrible. I've never wanted to beat someone up so much in all my life. He jumped in every chance he got in Hatton - Mayweeather but was happy to let Hopkins hold against Calzaghe. He was way too involved in Hatton's corner as well. He's a terrible ref in my opinion. :deal

Cortez is the Richard Steele of our time! He should be arrested for impersonating a referee!

Parris didn`t break the action all the time and didn`t have his picture took with Hatton smiling after the fight. It seems your another Hatton hater.Although Mayweather would beat Hatton everytime it still makes me sure whos side Cortez was on.

Cortez was terrible. I think if not for Cortez its an entirely different fight. I still think Floyd wins tho.

that being said, Parris was far far worse. 10 times worse. If not for Parris, I don't think Hatton walks away the winner in that fight.

Why is everyone on about the Hatton - Tszyu fight ? I don't get it at all it was a tough fight with both boxers pushing the rules to the limit but Hatton was no worse than Kostya. Watch the fight again and give examples of poor refereeing.
It's not a tickling contest, and that fight was won fair and square, as Tszyu was happy to admit.

Hitting and holding - this is a foul and Hatton did it 100s of times, he could have been DQ'ed for that fairly if the ref followed the book

Huge blatant haymaker of a low blow - don't think Ricky even got a warning, should have had at least 1 point docked

Legit KD ruled a slip - watch the replay of Hatton being kd'ed by a body blow (no it wasnt a low blow if you watch carefully), it was a legit body punch, it was ruled a slip from what I remember

Ricky may probably have won anyway but he fouled 3 times as much as Tyszu and worse, Kostya was a gent for accepting defeat graciously

And what about the Ice Age Wicky was given to recover against the rules against Lazcanno when he looked out of it?
