I had never seen a tribute video of Lopez, nice to see someone made highlights of him. Terrific fighter, flawless technique. I don't think the level of opponents he faced is enough to warrant being called the best boxer/puncher ever in the lower weights, there were many great fighters throughout those divisions, but Lopez is definitely among them. One of my favorites to watch.

you know what yesterday i was watching him thinking this guy when i was a kid was a legend to me and still is, great record shame he never went to a higher weight so he could get the big fights he deserved. i suppose because casual fans didn't know who he was i liked him more. great fighter and a shame he never got the great acclaim he deserved because he was a fantastic fighter.
it was always said in boxing circles if a trainer wanted to bring a novice up, all he had to do was show him/her videos of "El Finito". always fought with his hands up and great ring generalship. one of the most graceful and true masters of the sport
Juan Manuel Marquez' style is extremely similar. The way they throw combos, and the way they move around the ring.
He was very similar to JM Marquez he had one of the best trainers in boxing, Nacho Beristain; I only can see two differences between them, El finito had more POP in his punches, and he was eeven smarter than JM. By the way, one of the few who said I'm gone when he was in the TOP, very smart guy, I remember an interview with him, where he talked about how he used to practice a head scan before and after each fight just to be sure he was not getting any brain damage.
