To be honest I think he still needs to be moved on slowly due to the lack of amateur background, I would like him to learn his craft and improve so when he steps up he is 100% prepared for the change. I really wanted the Sam ***ton fight to happen because that would be the correct step up at this time but he isn't a noted banger!!

I would hate for him to be rushed, lose then the knives come out about him being the next Tom Dallas/Larry O etc

Alex Arthur put on a few shoes a couple of years back but just don't think they were doing all that well with tickets...

It would be a different story now if he could get Simmons on it, would offer McEwan a chance to get back in the ring as well.

Billy is right, Simmonds does well with the tickets and is a big enough to draw to have something through here.

A few things about matchroom though, there shows are usally in arena's the only one in Edinburgh could be ingelston which can hold a few thousand, but is a nightmare to get to/from.

Another factor that might work into that, but might not. A few weeks ago Matchroom heald a darts tournament at the venue, but it didnt sell very well, in fact they had to give away tickets for two of the four sessions due to poor sales.
Now with that experience in mind, they might not be keen to return, yes its darts but to the Matchroom machine it will certainly feed back into decisions for venues etc.

Edinburgh shows would be great, but as much as i would love it the real power lies through west ... might change one day but cant see any time soon.

A show on the night at the Radisson Hotel.

Scottish Champion Craig Kelly takes on Denton Vassell over 10 rounds. Tough one for Kelly, but I think Vassell may be on the decline, so Kelly can win this one IMO.

The undercard features Connor Law vs Willy Warburton.

Willy Warburton knows how to use his "loaf" these days and this fight could be "bread and butter" for him as recently he's been "panning" everybody's head in. If Warburton strings another couple wins together he could go on to make a bit of "dough" and be the best thing since "slice bread". So Connor Law better be careful and "rise" to the occasion or Warburton will "toast" him

I think scottish boxing is in serious bother and we are being frozen out , I thought Hearn initially would be great for scottish boxing but of late im starting to think hes as much of a C4NT as Wazza , Liverpool Leeds Hull and now touting Birmingham for shows , yet he has zero plans for up here and when asked he swerves it like fcuk , Burns farmed out to fight in america as peace meal to Haymon , Simmonds fighting in newcastle and Limmond fighting in sheffield yet both are the belt holders says plenty for me that he has sh4t on scottish boxing because now we dont have a world champ , young guys like brophy roberts jnr all getting frozen out by him despite selling in the region on £100k in tickets between them for him stinks imo ,

There's plenty of wee shows coming up over the next couple of months, Stevie. Big Cornish and Davie Barnes are out next month in Paisley. Then you've got Charlie Flynn and Joe Ham back at the Thistle. There's a show in Motherwell a day or two later were Billy's boy Momo Babazadah or whatever he's called is fighting and there's another show tucked away somewhere as well that month.

I know what you mean about "Big Time" boxing in Scotland though. Surely there's enough fighters the now to put on the odd show. Speaking about Wazza, I remember when Harrison went off the rails he was still putting the shows on up here without him with AAA in Edinburgh and it wasn't long before Burns was headlining wee shows in Glasgow at Belahouston and the Kelvin Hall. I mean could Hearn no put on a show at the Kelvin Hall or even the Emirates apart of a Prizefighter or something with Limond, Simmons, Slowey and Brophy etc alongside it?
