I've lost all interest in Burns vs Broner.... it's never happening. I just hope Burns can get his career back on track cause he's a skilled little fighter and definitely top 3 at LW maybe even higher, I hope he gets hius chance to prove it. Now that Broner vs Burns is off the table I can go back to being a Ricky supporter again......(one of the first on the forum that openly supported him until a lot of the shittier Brit posters jumped on the bandwagon to slight broner). If Broners done at LW Burns is actually my fave int he division right now until Gamboa moves there.

    Done deal.
Most people are realistic about the opponent on May 20th,as Ricky has lost a lot of money lately so a top opponent in May is unlikely.
But we need to see a big opponent within 2-3 fights maximum, and I suspect Ricky has made that clear.

In responce to the ridiculous notion that a boxer was a 'born ducker' whats your thoughts on Broner going up weight? Now that Ricky Burns looks likely to sign with Matchroom; a promoter which will allow him to fight Broner and actually get it on as a close as possibly fair terms Broner runs from the lightweight division in fear 'born ducker'! Now I don't actually know if that is true, but care to prove it wrong without the use of Twitter or pointless media call outs please.

Like I said in the Brit forum, expect to see two or three mediocre opponents for Burns next. We'll be extremely lucky if we see him with a Vasquez or a Abril before 2014. Burns from now on will be promoted well, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be in the best fights any time soon.

The Vasquez fight didn't even exist for him to be scared.

Pay no mind to her highness Elliot.
His reference to "born ducker" is a result of being a "born able-bodied spastic"

He was mad about the fight being delayed, and now he leaves Vazquez and the unification fight for an even later date and TBA opponent? Come on!

Time and again fans get upset when boxers hide behind their promoters. It looks to me like Ricky is stepping out from his protector and getting more control over his career. I wish more fighters would do this.

    :good

Hatton, Khan, Calzaghe and now Burns have all left Frank for the same reason. He doesn't want them to be in good fights, he wants to protect them and their records whilst selling out arenas. It's sad that Burns got stick for not fighting Broner, when anyone who has a clue knew who was really behind that fight not happening.

Frank is a joke and, thankfully, is likely to go out of business. The sooner the better.

Frank will see him in court and Burns never wanted the Broner fight. Burns vs Broner is not going to happen

Burns breaks free from his promoter who was stopping the fight and signs with one who isn't afraid of making big fights and Broner suddenly gets out of the division . . . .

Good move by Burns. It seems Hearn and Matchroom have real pull now and are a lot less shady than FW Promotions.

I would say the chances he fights Broner have increased exponentially, as it was FW, in my opinion, who was scared of Broner, not Rickster.

Keep grasping, you might get a decent straw if you stick at it long enough.

    Well said lads.:good
Even the more sensible Broner fans have been saying for a while that Ricky should stand up to VVarren.
I'm gutted that the fight's off and I'm down a few hundred quid, but I suspect we might learn a few home truths in the next few months because I would bet my life that Ricky is desperate to fight Broner because he's not thick-skinned the way some fighters are and all this ducking drivel will have really bothered him.
Fish has even held onto money Ricky's owed from Mitchell saying it's more or less a fine for ****ing off.
That surprised me that he still had a fairly large sum coming to him, which only emphasises how much these cancelled fights must be hurting Ricky financially.
I reckon Ricky has been looking to get out for a while, and Alex Morrison would know there were legal ramifications, and probably spent that Monday making sure they were water-tight before jumping.
VVarren is in trouble here, and I hope Ricky exposes a few well hidden wrong doings over the next year.
