    Yep.

If he can't get the respect of 135lb fighters how's he going to cope at 140. Plus he's not exactly fleet footed or a defensive wizard.

Bad move imo, he will be staying at domestic level I fear.

With much regret they're both yesterday's men unfortunately.

Saying that I'd still pay to see it!

Will get even worse beating at LWW, Burns at 140 christ look at the division, Garcia, Matthysse, Provodnikov, Peterson, all these guys would destroy Ricky, Terrible move another case of not excepting things, seems common practice when you loose a fight either change trainer or change weight, in this case Burns will now have done both. Awful idea Burns should hang them up if he's not staying for domestic fights at LW.

Burns is not a big lw and doesnt have the power to carry up. Who is he going to fight as an eliminator ? Matthyse? Prod? Molina? Lots of very very hard punchers up there and crawford will move up soonish

Another impetuous move by Ricky or his team, if he has no trouble making the weight then he should remain at lightweight.

I heard he was doing 10 mile runs on a regular basis as part of his conditioning. If true then this could only have been about keeping his weight down, given that long distance running for a boxer is of no use.

He does appear very tight at LW and so perhaps this isn't a bad decision to see if it helps him return to anything like the fighter he was.

I have my doubts though. Ricky has looked succeedingly worse over the course of his last four fights, since the Gonzalez fight in March 2013, and should consider whether it's worth risking his health to continue.

He's had a great career, been a commendable champion, and overachieved. I would like to see him hang them up.

Moving up will mean he will get hit much harder. I hope he does not get brain damage............

Ricky has no place at LWW imo , Plain as day since the Mitchell fight hes maybe been over hyped and not done the weight aswell as he should have maybe getting complacent with success

moving up will get him the easiest lww british title he'll ever get....plus a bigger pay than any other option at the moment....plus without the pressure of making weight....plus he boxes at home again....plus it'll be a great confidence booster winning in front of a home crowd again.

    limond fight makes sense.

Ricky walks around 10st8sh its not the killing himself to make the weight as much its the way he feels at 9st9 he feels sapped and low in stregnth , much the same as the way cleverly explained it when the body gets so lean at a weight the energy and resistance goes , LWW is possibly more natural for ricky but the only issue i see is most at LWW can all bang and ricky isnt a naturally 1 punch specialist , be intresting to see how this pans out
