You're right Rocky's defences where poor but the reality is that Munguia and Viloria are streets ahead of Evensen and Laryea.

I know BoxRec Rankings are **** but the fact that Laryea is ranked 144 in the World says a lot. Evensen was a Featherweight that wasn't even European level, sure he was game and I gave him credit because he put in a top shift but he had no place being in a World Title fight at Super Featherweight.

I think the only thing I would say was that people on here said Martinez doesnt deserve a re-match cos Burns is gonna go on to Unify. Eversen and Layera MMMMMM

They had it all set for appleby to face burns if he had won so lareya deserves the shot.

Appleby didn't deserve a title shot either but at least it had an interesting angle with it supposed to be the first all Scottish World Title fight.

But Laryea is a disgraceful world title fight, as I said earlier just look at his record BoxRec have him at 144 that says it all.

Appleby made Layrea look good. Anyone who has decent boxing brain and ability beats him. The jab wasn't even that good just fact Paul never thought about slipping or parrying it.

Burns wins at canter and stops him in 7. He couldn't handle bodywork of Appleby if you remember...he nearly went over in round 2.

    **** Poor Fight IMO.

Exactly. Appleby fought like a fool that night. Round 2 he had him on verge of being stopped then for rest of fight stayed on outside.

Such a **** fight....Foster Jnr would batter Layrea....i could handle the Evensen fight but this is not acceptable if true.

Exactly mate, he was doubling him over in the 2nd then he decided to box onff the back foot, very strange. Your man in the picture looking class. I was undecided between him and Groves 2 fights ago, now though only 1 winner

Agreed Mate, remember his first display...was like most left a bit uneasy on him but since then i seen him display his talent bit by bit. I agree i see him beating Groves. I don't mind George but just don't see the hype about the lad when compared to Chunky. 1 winner as you say.

    shockingly poor opponent. He has lost in fights to;

Osumanu Akaba - beaten by Burns and Truscott
Maxwell Awuka - beaten by Liam Walsh
Yakubu Amidu - beaten by Burns

He cannot be defended as a good opponent.

Yeah I agree with pretty much everyone else.

He wouldn't be a bad opponent for Liam Walsh..... but as for Burns, it's just not good enough.

I'm not a fan of easy defences at all, he's had one, and now needs to fight one of the top five contenders. No excuses.

It's not as if he is incapable of beating them anyway.

I'd rather see Burns-Foster than this ****. I take it they couldn't get any of Fana/Litzau/Uchiyama/Solis/Aoh/Martinez rematch/Gulyakevich/Baloyi/Tajbert/Salgado/Gaudet etc, etc. Another ****-poor defence. Great.

Really poor fight. The Evensen fight was acceptable as it was a routine first defence against a guy who was undefeated but this is a lot of pish. Hopefully it's just paper talk.

If Appleby beat this guy and got a shot it would have been undeserved as well, but like royalt said it at least had the allure of being an all Scottish title fight. **** this fight if it happens.
