Ricky Burns vs. Paulus Moses & Paul Appleby vs. Stephen Ormond RBR

A bit of a delay, caused by Ormond's gum shield not being ready after the bell sounded. Appleby is cut by his left eye, spilling blood already a mere ten seconds into the round. Is that leftover from round six? OH ****! Ormond has a point deducted. For what? Low blows? Ormond throws a tantrum, going to get disqualified. Appleby's cut is HORRIBLE. Ormond drills the body with hooks while tucking his chin, and chops a right hand at Appleby's cut eye. Ormond is grinding his face into Appleby's now in the clinch, trying to worsen that cut. Wild exchange, both hooking with lefts and rights and twisting their bodies swiftly above the waist. Appleby lands a left hook and a looping right. Gum shield out from the Emerald Islander. The pudgy ref does a truffle shuffle across the ring to see about replacing it. Body shots traded both ways! Ormond is pitched forward, face pointed down, gloves dangerously low to the canvas! Just winging body shots! Appleby is slapping and grabbing. Ormond throws some hard quick left hooks to the body. Appleby keeps him tied up and lands his own body shots.

Round 8

Their heads come together as they do, and the ref warns them. Ormond gets Appleby in an armbar but Paul is able to wrench free before the referee intervenes. They stay close and trade body shots and slapping hooks to the face. Appleby backs out and jabs to the head, then bends over to hook the body. Ormond jumps in with skyward rights chasing Appleby's chin, and left hooks to the flank. Appleby catches him and tosses him away. BIG left hook by Ormond. Appleby is holding a lot, just forcing Ormond back toward the ropes and pinning his arms. Ormond throws a hard right through the gloves and gets grabbed. Appleby dances away and jabs. BIG double left hook high and low by Ormond. Clinch. Ormond keeps chasing.

Round 9

Ormond is jumping inside, hunkering low and windmilling shots at Appleby's face. Good clubbing right by Appleby catches Ormond cruising in. Tie up. Break. The ref screams something in Appleby's face, admonishing him (rabbit punches?). Left and right uppercuts by Appleby, whipping both arms very loosely. Suddenly he plants his feet and digs a hard left hook to the body. Ormond is clipped on the temple by a right hand. Ormond keeps jogging onto shots and isn't getting close enough to land his hooks to the body, while Appleby is blocking his rights.
