Jquik Ricky has beat very good opposition in Moses,Martinez,Katsitas,Mitchell and Gonzalez. I would bet anyone on here that Moses would beat any LW in the UK and Ricky outclassed him, watch that fight mate and see how well Ricky dictated the distance, scored with punches and managed to avoid punches. Granted we know the Gonzalez performance wasnt what we expected but he grinded out the reselut a sign of a champion. And ive have no doubt if they meet again Ricky would beat him again.:good
Yes but our country hasnt great expectations placed upon them by there deluded fans who are living off a world cup win 47 years ago for **** sake. Your football team with the talent it has must be one of the most underacheiving football teams ever.atsch And kindly leave my eating habits alone:good
Let's face it Moses and Katsidis were both well past their best when Ricky fought them,Katsidis was never the same after his fight with Marquez and Moses well he's Moses.I think Gonzalez exposed Ricky as being an average boxer can you imagine what kind if problems Ricky would have with someone like Vasquez or Abril,if Ricky Burns were to beat one of those guys convincingly of course we can start to believe we have something special on our hands but until then the verdict is still out.
There was one simply reason Ricky never performed as well in his last fight he overstrained but still showed the heart of a champion to grind out the win. Moses is still a excellent fighter and as I say beat anyone in the UK so for you to say he's done is nonsense. Judge Ricky in the next 12 months he will be the star of British boxing
I didn't say Moses was done but he is 35 years old so obviously his best days are behind him,he peaked when he won his world title and lost it to a pretty average Miguel Acosta who knocked him out. I hope Ricky proves me wrong because he's a great lad and seems like one of the nice guys in boxing and if anyone deserves success it's him.Matchroom need to get him the fights the fans want to see and not try and milk him but I hear Raymundo Beltran is favorite to be his next opponent so it seems Eddie Hearn is going down that road.
Billy have a word with Eddie and remind him that Ricky is star and shouldn't be sluming it in St Enoch's, Ricky should at least be in Buchanan Galleries at the bare minimum.
Billy Out of interest (and I'm not having a dig). After the admitted supprise of Gonzalez' tactics / performace. Has Ricky changed his attitude to watching tapes of prospective opponents? All the best to you both.
Thanks very much mate, the thing is we will learn for our mistakes has neither of us have experienced overtraining before,it was very unfortunate but I can assure folk and you'd only need to ask Rickys sparring partners he was looking great in the gym. I don't think Ricky will watch dvd's of his opponents he leaves that to me and just to defend myself, based on the limited footage we had nobody would have expected Gonzalez to box the way he did, however if they were to fight again I know it would be totally different but the same result.:good
