I've always wonderd that, although I guess its just one of those things. i know it makes a difference but would it have changed any outcomes? that goes for any fat-between-fights fighters.

 

Did he mention how he's just one of the lads and like going for a pint with his mates or having a game of Darts?

 

The Leonard rematch is the one that always gets mentioned. Duran was partying after the first fight and had to crash diet to make the weight apparently.


I still think Leonard fighting his fight would beat any version of Duran at 147, but thats another can of worms!!!

 

Leonard did fight his fight in Montreal & he got out fought & out boxed, he's said so himself that it was the best tactic to employ by staying close to duran seeing he was bigger/stronger/faster/younger & especially after the 2nd round when duran countered Leonard at mid-distance & smacked 4 of his teeth out of his gums & sent him into breakdance mode.

Leonard was totally shocked at durans speed of counter & speed of foot, he cut all escape route's & really just dominated the whole fight & it was dundee that came up with his usual sackfull of excuses about ray fighting the wrong fight guff, not true, there was no escape for leonard & duran fought as a man demented, he bossed the fight

In New Orleans duran's management & Don King jumped at the $9 million on offer as long as the fight took place in November & not january 81 or they'd (Leonard) go after WBA champ Pipino Cuevas. So Eleta & King agreed & just threw duran in there ready or not, they did'nt care as the 9 million had already been sent to a panama bank:smoke

I never even saw it, jsut going by the way it was made to sound here. I am probably one of the few people who dont think he's dissapeared into his own arsehole.
