At the end of the day he is down to earth and one of the lads - alcoholic, coke head, cheater, money lover - salt of the earth.

i really would like to know what a check hook is,after watching boxing, training and fighting in the late 80's and early 90's,i never got taught or heard of a 'check hook'.
what to you have to do,check before you throw it,pls has anyone any vids(and pls no mayweather/hatton footage):thumbsup

as for hattons hatred on here,i can understand it with him being a tad annoying outside the ring,3rd person, the p4p thing he was obsessed with.

BUT,with his fights,he was nearly always exciting to watch, fought and beat some very good domestic and world class fighters, confusing really, boxing fans should like excitement,i don't get this running away and jabbing nonsence for 12 boring rounds,im all for hit and not be hit,but hit and ****ing leg it,nah, thats ****,get ****ing in there:bbb

Always liked Hatton, in much the same fashion I did Bruno. He was a limited fighter but seemed to be a genuine good guy (whether that's actually true of either I have no idea) and more than that he was willing to get in there with the best fighters to try and prove he was, not through skill but through heart.

Had he beaten Mayweather it would have been Rocky esque, limited brawler with the people behind him over comes all the odds and nay sayers. As the TS said, he created an England world cup like feeling for his fights (and twice it felt like I usually do after an England world cup game).

I remember watching him being dissected by Mayweather and found it hard to watch, usually I am not bothered if an English fighter loses (although I am becoming invested in Khan for some reason, I used to hate him) but I was heartbroken watching Ricky be picked apart and watching the final execution when he head butted that ring post is probably the closest I've come to bawling like a baby about a boxer.

I respect Ricky for the want to be the best and getting in the ring with the best, even if it was only twice...I'd rather support that kind of fighter than David Haye, the Klit's, Pacquiao or Mayweather.

I wouldn't mind Hatton if he didn't pretend to be something he wasn't. But the guy was shameless with his self promotion "Champion of the people" "Working man's champ" and then charges people £15 to watch him v Juan Lazcano.

Then there was the "I'm gonna beat Floyd/Pacquiao and become p4p no 1"....yeah...because that's how it fúcking works Ricky. Ricky was extremely fortunate to break into the top 10 when he did because at no stage in his career was there less than 10 guys who could have beat him weight class regardless.

Given his limitations, he did well, but from winning a world title the only real challenges he faced he lost, but for huge paydays. Urango is Hatton's only win who has won a world title after losing to Ricky, that shows how píss weak the majority of his wins are. After Tszyu; Urango and Malignaggi are really the only wins that mean anything and let's be honest neither of them are anything special, they're bread and butter opponents.

Anyway, for shíts and giggles this sums up Hatton's stupidity:

Its a prime example of Floyd's rampaging ego.
Giving your punches their own name. I ask you!:-(

I would respect Hatton, if he came-back and was competitive with Berto for at least 6 rounds.
