I didnt expect that but I didnt really expect a Hatton win. If you look at his recent performances prior to that. Terrible perofrmance against semi retired Lazcano, Mayweather KO, Collazo debateable decision, Urango debateable decision. Fair enough he had his good wins against Paulie, who is a real good fighter and Castillo but I think he was done when he fought Pac. Not taking anything away from Pacquiao, he beat Hatton in a way no one expected.

Hatton's style led him to be spectacularly KO'd.

Yup, one of the earlier posters had a very good point when he said that it wasn't the Ko that was shocking it was how early it was. I believe what he said was that if he had known that Pac would carry his punch he would have picked the early KO. Styles make fights and a guy whom uses pressure and head feinths to swama nd break his opponents down is usually in **** against a power puncher. Leave the chin hanging the way Hatton doesn and your really asking for trouble. Its the old Forman blows out Frazier, Frazier beats Ali, Ali beats Forman routine. Brawler's do poorly against power punchers.

it was unexpected because pac failed to ko dela hoya after peppering with lefts and rights. they assumed that pac doesn't have the power at the higher weight. they forgot that oscar has one of the best chins in the business and was only ko'ed by hopkins by a body shot and is a middleweight. hatton simply understimated pac's power because before the fight he was saying he will be the bigger and stronger guy.

Facts are facts, under the wire. Ricky Hatton was coming off his most accomplished performance since beating Kosta Tyszu, and Manny Pacquiao had never fought at 140lbs before that night. To do what he did to Ricky Hatton was great. Had he won a decision against Hatton or stopped him late, then I'd argue it would have been a good performance...but to devastate him in double quick time like he did is what propelled it into a great performance and a great win in my mind.

Heres the thing with hatton....When he started training with floyd,sr. they cut all weightlifitng out his training regiment.....It weakened his power, however, graham said he wasn't putting a dent in his sparring partners for the lazcano fight....

His last legit KO was the body shot on castillo......

Look at hatton pre-floyd sr....he was coming into fight night at 154......then with floyd, sr. he comes in both the malignaggi and pacquiao fights at 152

True, Jeff Young, but your boy was man handled and dominated by the exact same Ricky Hatton that stepped into the ring with Manny Pacquiao.

Intresting about the weights. When I saw Hatton at the Pac weigh in, he looked skinny.

Hatton was well past his best by this stage and years of blowing up had taken its toll for him going down to 140, thats the truth.

The Hatton of the time of the Tszyu fight would have faired LOT better that night, Pac would have known all about it.

    Mayweather ****ed up Hatton's style!

Mayweather was the wrong trsiner for Hatton because Mayweather tends to change the style of a fighter towards a "boxer" type,

As a result, Hatton does not sit on his punches as much as when he was a mugger. He was trying to be cute punching that bag, being light and on his toes. Of course he losses power with that stance. He was trying to be a slick boxer which he will never be even if he trained 10 years with Mayweather.

Mayweather is overrated as a trainer. The fighters that do well with him are the slick types like Dawson.

When Hatton was throwing a left and right, he does not tuck his chin, which should be made a habit even when punching the bag. It looks good but against a faster fighter, he would get punched first before he can throw the second punch. Fast fighters can get away with it because of their reflexes but he was the slower fighter in this fight, so Mayweather should have made Hatton a habit to tuck his chin when punching.

That's when he was exposed for me!! he should of said a bunch of hail marys before the fight with Pac coz Lazcano and Callazo as good as they is.Pacquiao is a monter..HAtton ain't as good as advertised same with Cotto.Morales and JMM are better there's not doubt about that.JMM didn't get KTFO by FLOY and FLOY came in over the weight limits. The TSZYU fight was a hugfest with ilegal low blows and head locks and Tszyu is flat footed he couldn't get Hugton off him terrible officiating in UK.

    I agree.

I'm surprised by how shitty he looks there actually.
