Yes that's a good point, but we can't say for sure that Paulie's hands are going to break, or that Hatton is just going to walk through them shots and land his own at will. If he does, than thats great and very impressive, but Paulie is a world class fighter and him making Hatton miss, countering well, and breaking Hatton's rythim with his jab is not out of the question. I know I may get more responses on how Paulie doesn't have the power, he gets hit, etc. But my only point is that Ricky is fighting Paulie for a reason, and that's because Paulie is one of the top fighter at jrwelterweight right now and he obviously feels he can beat him. Me too, but I think Ricky will be beating (if he does) a good fighter, not some average punk who made it big time because he talks trash.

Hatton has a much better trainer and will be in much better shape,
He will KO malignaggi and hopefully get a rematch with floyd because I believe hatton will beat him in a rematch.
If the rematch happens it should be in the UK to.

    Wrong on most counts.

He will be in equal shape for Paulie as he is for every fight. One thing Billy Graham used to do (with Kerry Kayes) was get him supremely fit - however the technical differences between Graham and Floyd are staggering.

Floyd has his fighters doing technical drills, whereas Billy makes the session as much like the fight as possible - not saying either is right or wrong, but for a supposedly shite trainer Graham won an awful lot more than he lost with all his fighters, not just Hatton.

Hatton wouldn't beat Mayweather in ten goes - but for Cortez he would have heard the final bell and lost a clear UD (probably 117-111), but he loses anytime anywhere.

Malignaggi by close decision. If Cotto couldn't knock Paulie out, I seriously doubt Hatton will. If Malignaggi's hands hold up, he'll accumlate enough points on workrate to outpoint Hatton.

Malignaggi needs to be a lot sharper than he was in his last fight to do this. He needs to be quick, crisp and counter well.

Hatton is a harder puncher than Cotto was at 140 - plus Paulie has never been the same since then.

Very true. And coming in with a more 'conservative' hair style would probably be a smart move. But Hatton has to look a lot better than his last fight as well. And while the ref intervened to give him extra time to recuperate in Manchester, in Vegas, no one's going to let him retie his shoes.

Paulie is a good fighter. He might even be in Hatton's class now Hatton has slipped a little bit. But he's the wrong man in my view.

I don't see any of the current 140lb'ers troubling Hatton - none of them have that little bit extra that Floyd had.

Torres - big puncher, but average in other departments
    Holt - ordinary, if honest
Witter - lazy, can be outworked
Kotelnik - took 12 to stop Rees
Bradley - solid enough fighter, bit basic and green, in truth
Paulie - for reasons I have stated above

yup. it's hard to see how paulie can win this, unless hatton has really sunk. how is he gonna be able to keep ricky off him ?

Agree with the others, but I think Bradley is the one, especially if Hatton continues to slip. Right now I see Ricky as only a very slender favourite, a Bradley win would not surprise me one little bit.

Bradley has good fundamentals, and IMO is better than Paulie - but stylewise he doesn't have anything that would keep Ricky awake.

He isn't especially fast or powerful, though he disarmed Witter effectively enough.

Hatton can raise the workrate to steal rounds that he doesn't really deserve (Rd. 11 Collazo for instance) - Tim had an easy ride with Witter who spent most of the fight posing. Ricky doesn't do posing, and will keep marching forward.
