This is where we go in circles.

I say Hatton wrestled and mauled and threw rabbit punches incessantly

You say Tszyu punched him in the nuts and Hatton was responding

I say Hatton was consistently fouling

You say it was a rough fight where the ref let things slide for both fighters...

Then we come back again in a few weeks and do it again.

I always like the 'Opponent A was past it, Opponent B's dog died before the fight so he was mentally ****ed, Opponent C was weight drained, Opponent D was green, Opponent E was gay, Opponent F was straight, Opponent G was confused, Opponent H only wanted a payday' type posts where every win is discredited and nothing of note is left on the record, it can be done to any fighter.

Very true mate but my big thing isn't what "certain" people say about Hatton, its that "they" don't judge other fighters the same measure.

I've said before that his career is a piece of **** to rank. Lost convincingly to the 2 exceptional fighters he fought but was good enough to campaign and win at world class, in an weak division, for a number of years.

Why is there the need to detract from that? I honestly don't get it.....

It's not quite that simple though. Assessing things like the Tszyu and Castillo wins is quite crucial to his overall legacy. As they're his stand out 'wins' names wise, a clear level above Urango, malignaggi, Maussa etc.

So you then have to say that Zoo, who had improved on the Sharmba Mitchell win 6 months before he fought Hatton, was past it and ready to retire?

Or that, after getting hit low on at least 3 occasions in a rough fight, Hatton and Parris fixed the fight.

What the hell, forget Zoo and JLC. Pretend Hatton never stopped either man, even without those wins he's still had a pretty good career in Brit terms!!!!!

Never thought about it like that, thats really tempting.

I agree of course...he had a good career. Thats beyond question. It's how good that is the timeless debate...:yep
