Yeah, Hatton seems to get a lot of unwarranted **** on boxing forums and I'm not sure why. He had a brilliant career and was well past his best when he fought Mayweather and especially Pacman. Some brilliant wins on his resume. Just short of elite, but a very very good and tough fighter to beat

I agree with OP Hatton's record was pretty good, but like everybody there comes a time when you hit a bump in the road.

Some you are able to drive over, others stop you in your tracks.

I hoenstly think Ricky could still have come back and have a decent career, but I think that the losses hurt him more mentally, than physically as a result he does not really want to fight (IMO)

British fans are ****ing backwards, they give Hatton all kinds of flack (who was a hell of boxer) but tea bag posers and phonies like Haye, and NAZ.

A decent career after that? Against who?

Bradley, Alexander, Khan and hell, even Maidana would finish him now (No disrepect to him). He'd just be a payday for anyone going by.

By decent I don't mean mega bout's with super paydays.....But I think he could have given himself a better farewell........

    Rather than end abruptly

Tsyzu, Lazcano, Urango, Malignagi, Maussa, Collazo, Philips. 2 division champ with only 2 defeats. He's pretty damm good, A- fighter at his best IMO.

I agree it was a very good record and could well of been better if he lived the life, everyone but Hatton knew that blowing up between fights would catch up with him sooner or later. Having said that tought he had the style to beat mayweather but Cortez totally ruined that fight every time Hatton got in close he broke it up. i just hope he stays retired though his punch resistance has completly gone coming back will only deminish his excellent record.

Hatton had a very solid record with only two losses to two of the greatest fighters in history. Credit to Hatton for crossing the pond to try his hands at greatness himself.

Of course he's good, no one sane can deny that. His two losses are to two ATG fighters and two candidates to fighter of the decade(Pacquiao won that now) so there's nothing to be ashamed of.

Fans in this sport just tend to label any fighter a tomato can, fraud or a softy after any loss. If Pacquiao, who's recent reign is insane, loses he would get his share of similar ******ed comments.

If he stayed in better shape he probably would have burned out and had a worse career. Some guys need more down time than others where they don't have to think about anything work-related. Hatton was one of those guys.
