I'd favour Bowe but I wouldn't discount Liston. Bowe didn't face many big hitters and he was very easy to hit, it's one thing to stand and trade with Holyfield, very different to stand and trade with a big puncher like Liston.
I didn't down size anything I showed listion fought guy of 5'7 stature which he did and anyone in this debate should be aware of each fighters opponents....that being said Liston fought MANY guys under the 200 pound mark this is not a made up anything...fighting Bowe then would be that much more difficult ,I dont have to bend or inflate anything....this is common sense! Who ever fought the bigger opponts of the two is the one who will utilize his jab better,i highly doubt liston is going to feel comfortable trying to punch upward at a 6'5 monster who had much more adaptability than liston did.
you are one of my regular punching bags on here,do you really want to get me started ,this has been a daily thing now? :-(
no just go to your post history replies its right there, plenty of them..... I don't even really bother with you, Janitor or dino...three stooges of the forum!
You don't bother with me because I've repeatedly schooled you. You're basically just a nuthugger with an agenda, it pours out of all of your posts.
yet you ran off your little thread with the Ali opponents that I broke down to reality, you didn't like that I actually put factual statistics and time frames in it,you then ran when no answer to it! ALL the threads you were on was the same case... If I actually kept track what you posted I would have countless stupid shyte on you and you would run so far you would land on another boxing site... :yep
One could infer that Liston wouldn't know what to do because he never fought anything that was like Bowe.
Bowe never fought anything like Liston. In fact what world class punchers did he beat, apart from Golotta? I would say that there are more issues with Bowes opposition, because he didnt fight many legitimately elite guys, outside of Holyfield. Listons opponents are not the best, but he does have a pretty good spread of styles and types, so there are less unanswered questions.
Agenda's you see, agenda's, that's what you're all about, you're not a true boxing fan but just another fanboy. Because you want to convince all and sundry that Wlad is the greatest thing since sliced bread and the greatest heavyweight ever, you simply diss everyone of Ali's opponents. You're assessment of Liston for example is comical. You have him down as some dumb, slow and limited plodder with virtually no skills, it really is pathetic. On the other hand the "luminaries" who Wlad has fought are elevated to an almost superstar status, you really need to grow up.
liston was straight forward jabber, good combos when he used them the best straight right in his time, decent speed but not overly fast...it all matters little with the H2H match up here you just don't have the logic to see this,he would not be chasin down some little opponent like Patterson and company....but then again you said Louis was not knocked out of the ring on another thread as well so what are you really seeing is another question altogether? :boxx
So Bowe beats Liston on size and Holyfield beats Liston on the fact that .... He's the same size, but more modern, boxing has moved on etc We can assume Bowe wouldn't set a pace similar to that of his first fight with Holyfield, due to Liston being a more dangerous puncher. Saying that, if you watch the second fight, Bowe does pretty well at boxing from range, keeping the majority of the fight on the outside. Liston having a big reach doesn't do him much favours, but the reason I've brought up Holyfield is because Bowe holds a win over a greater heavyweight than his opponent in this match up
