I think Frazier's work rate eventually get to Bowe for a late stop are we talking 15 rds....But Bowe may land the uppercut early and put Joe down...just that Joe starts to smoke and work the body and Bowe got hit a lot...Bowe has size advantage but Frazier workrate and good body head hooking...IMO Frazier by late stop
bowe beats frazier. Although frazier had a great left hook he rarely knocked out he opponents with one punch. His knockouts normally came through an accumulation of punches and that's what it would take to defeat bowe. Bowe was just too big a fighter for frazier to handle and he could fight well inside and out. Fraziers would have to eat bowes punches to get inside and this would take effect on him gradually.
Bowe took a good punch but got hit a lot...Holyfield and Golota landed hard punches on him..if I have to say the one thing that lower Bowes stock is that he got hit a lot and was not always in top shape got too fat and lazy and sluggish
Bowe through fantastic uppercuts on the inside, and I think this would be Frazier's undoing. I wouldn't be surprised if Bowe went down at some point, but he had an iron chin and took heavy punishment right up to the end of his (first and legitimate) career. Bowe would stop Frazier around the 9th/10th round in my opinion, though this is not to say that Frazier wasn't the more accomplished fighter. Bowe is all wrong for Joe.
smokin joe might last a little longer then smokin burt cooper. frankly, theres no way for frazier to win this, he doesnt have the power move bowe,or the chin to last him. joe will be uppercutted to death with all that bobbing he does on the inside. i dont think the style matchup could be much worse for joe.
Bowe is getting overrated here: he's not a Lewis, Liston or Foreman type struggle for Frazier and is there to be hit. Frazier, by UD. Possibly late accumulation stoppage.
Bowe is much too big for Joe. The way Bowe destroyed Bert Cooper (trained by Joe) makes me think Joe is also too open for the right hand. and if he took the fight to the inside, Bowe would just outmuscle him there too. It's one gun against two. it's just a matter of time There's no way Joe can win.
Bowe would fall before the 10th round. Prime Frazier's head movement, pressure, pace and body attack would be too much for Bowe. Once again, the 1973 Frazier title defense against Foreman is wrongfully used, a poor example when comparing Bowe vs Frazier. Bowe could definitely KO this poorly conditioned, overweight, over confident version of Frazier, albeit not as quick as Foreman did. Pre-FOTC to FOTC Frazier would give both Foreman and Bowe a whole lot of problems. With regards to stamina, I think Bowe lasts longer than Foreman against prime Frazier. Both have the potential to put Joe on the canvas early, but they wouldn't be able to keep him there. Neither man KO's prime Frazier. Eddie Futch said himself that Frazier would have destroyed Bowe, and I'd bet on Ken Norton to give Bowe problems as well.
