Rigo is overrated

He isn't Mayweather level but he is far from overrated. He beat Donaire and has yet to lose.

I agree with this post to a certain extent but u cannot deny the people who dismiss Rigo as overrated, boring or w/e tend to be causal fans who only classify gd boxers as rock em sockem robots

The fact is the guy is arguably the best amateur ever, has hardly lost a round in his pro career apart from the times he has been put over and shut out a guy who IMO was not overrated as #3 p4p, the manor in which Donaire disposed of Montiel who was pvp rated at the time was devistating,

The 6 fights Donaire had leading up to the Rigo fight were all quality opponents justifying how highly he was ranked, this is outlined by the ring mag experts favouring Nonito by 25-2 to win easily

The fact is that Rigo being shut out in the cold given his talent and personal circumstances is nothing short of criminal

Only in boxing can the most talented sportsman of his generation be treated in a such a manor

If Rigo was an American boxer it would be completely different....

 

I'm not disagreeing with what you say about his talent, but boxing is, after all, a business. If you can't draw viewers, you can't get sponsors. If you can't get sponsors, you can't make money. This is a business and businesses are driven by sales (viewers).

However that doesn't mean he should be thrown into the worst boxing shows possible, why can he not be chief support on big cards? Why does he not fight on Pacs undercard or whoever else? I cannot see hbo saying no he can't fight at all on our network

It's just the usual boxing corruption and Ill feeling from uncle Bob, hopefully after his last fight with Arum he can get with a promotor who actually has an interest in making him an ATG pro fighter which he should be and not just discard him cause he will never be a cash cow

 

line up all the opposition available and watch him shine. the guys out there for him to fight are mexican, filipino, eastern bloc euros, etc...all of which have very passionate fans. watch their passion grow as rigondeaux shuts them down. he has ko power...he just isn't being matched or promoted properly.

the same formula bob used for pac would work for rigondeaux. rigondeaux is waaay more talented and has power in both hands. get him the matches and watch him shine. it's that simple.

 

As a massive Frampton fan i can say to you Rigo is by a mile the best SBW in the world and a top 5 p4p number 2 on my list he's that good. Why do you think Frampton, LSC, Quigg, Kiko are all reluctant to face Rigo? They know they get beaten to a one sided UD, imagine the props any of them would get beating Rigo plus 2 world titles. The argument of Rigo bringing no money is true but if your not a world champion and think you can beat Rigo you would take the fight especially since you could get it at home. Rigo beats everyone at SBW with ease and beats all the FW's as well he is just too gifted a small weight Sweat Pea.

 

Thats where you lost me. NO ONE thought he was shot. He was a heavy favorite and he was steamrolling opponents.
