Come on Rigo did great against Donaire and that's it. He has to prove himself against different styles. I've seen him struggle with a C+ fighter and get knock down by a jab. Floyd and Ward are another level at the moment and they have proven themselves against a variety of styles.
Ward Proven as Floyd? .. Hell Nah, for ward to pull a Mayweather he would have to fight in LHW, Cruser and HW to come close at what floyd has done... but this thread is about Talent
That is just not true.. Wlad would TOWER above Ward... Floyd has never been in a fight that insanely mismatched.
In HW? LOL no. Floyd moved from 130 to 154, it's big deal, but far from middleweight competing vs best heavyweights. Oscar did the same thing as Floyd, and Roberto Duran did more than that
The best boxers of this era. Great 120 Great 140 Great 160. You no what I mean. All have something in common. 'as long as youre a black man, youre an african'
Exactly, people talk about moving up in weight but only count the divisions they don't actually count the amount of weight they are moving up, floyd has moved up 24 lbs, ward doing the equivalent would be beating the cruiser champ at a cw of 192 lbs. winning a heavyweight title against a reasonable sized heavy would be moving up around 70lbs, the equivalent to floyd winning a cruiserweight title in terms of how much they've actually moved up in weight.
Yes, but also it is a sliding scale.. at lower weight classes weight means more then at bigger weight classes, so you just can't take 25lbs for a WW and 25lbs for a LHW. Plus.. HW is unlimited.. so.. there is that you gotta think about too.
In terms of pure skill level it would have to be Rigo. He fought the Fighter of the year who was much bigger and stronger then him and who was also a P4P top 3 and made him look silly. Neither Floyd or Ward have done that to an equivalent opponent yet and guys like Marquez, Canelo, Hatton, Froch etc... don't count for various reasons.
you know that HW division is all about Mismatch in size yet the more skilled fighter would dominate the larger fighter... Prime Mike Tyson was smaller than ward yet took on much larger guys than himself, Prime Tyson being Smaller than Ward took on a Guy as large as Wlad and K.O in the first or second, round... Prime Tyson would K.O Wlad in 6.. Ward would have to pack on Muscle to fight the big guys at HW, just as little floyd did from 130 pounds when he started to 151 at JMW
No.. Floyd Started at 130, his last fight was at 150, thats 20 pounds... Ward dont want none below or above 168.. moving just 22 lbs above his current weight would match what floyd has done.... :bbb
Rigo no question! these fools who say donaire was just one win are idiots rigo beats everyone at 122 maybe 126 aswell!
Lol, Tyson Frazier and Marciano are the rare stand-outs of the HW Division.. I love all three, but the HW Division is ruled by the bigger skilled man. Lennonx/Tyson; Frazier/Foreman; Liston/Marciano (It would have been the prelude to Frazier/Foreman).
Donaire is not a better fighter than Canelo. Both were vastly overrated before they got exposed..But Donaire more than Canelo. Its hard to argue with your choice because I feel like its a toss up between Rigon and Money.
