It would be a chess match... Probably Rigo takes it.. I can see him getting TKO'd like Donaire did though but its bound to happen as I doubt Rigo would press the action and Montiel not wanting to make a bad showing will probably press the action and turn on the offensive and ma get caught by Rigo's counter punching..

I would love to see it.....

I still want Donaire Marquez... Donaire needs to take on Elite dude again like Montiel to make himsel bigger and that RIGO and Nishioka... but I don't think its gonna happen..
Rigo VS Montiel would be a good fight....

I still think Montiel might head toward the Nishioka route.

but Doc dont you think 122 will be too much for a Montiel past his prime?
why didnt he stay around 118?

Risk vs reward, it will have to be substantial for Montiel to risk his new found title against Rigondeaux. Hope it happens though.

They said weight Probmlems, Also I think it may very well be to much but he is willing to take the challenge and I will be there to support him, a fight with Rigo or Nishioka would be be banging... I think Montiel might be looking for the big fight this year... So I hope it's either.

Counter punching chess match in both.

Rigondeaux would drop him to his knees with Brutal Body Shots...Montiel was never that good...I remember when a OLD PAST HIS PRIME Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson DESTROYED HIM lol

but at 118 he wasn't as good as Moreno, Agbeko, Vic Darchinyan or Mares

Destroyed him? It was a split decision on Johnson's home turf. He won, sure, but it wasn't exactly lopsided.

Montiel was a pretty good fighter at his best. Titles in three weight classes, has gone probably something like 12-4 against other titlists throughout his career. He's also been a very different fighter for the last five years than he was early in his career. He's gone from being a patient cutie to a more typical Mexican style fighter. No doubt Rigo beats him now though.

Rendal Munroe is a Binman/Boxer who challened Nishioka for his world title unsuccessfully (went the distance) its an easy fight for Rigo but I just would like to see him fight live

Still Vazquez jr would make a good challenege
