I've been saying this **** for years! ****ing great post! Some people call you dumb if you don't know the answer to something but that doesn't mean you lack intelligence it just mean's you're yet to learn about that particular thing. Some people call me intelligent because I'm into computer programming but that doesn't mean **** it's just the field I'm trying to learn about it doesn't make me any more or any less intelligent than other people. It's just something that I find I can pick up when I couldn't pick up things in other areas.
I am a Klit fan but yes, that is much more impressive than a phd in "sports science" or whatever. Accounting and banking are pretty tough, you need lots of math credits. There is really no such thing as pre law but i'm sure it's a lot harder than p.e classes.
Humm ring IQ ?! Personally i like floyd, active, smart, knows how to change his game round after round and knows how to make good use of the ring... Guess its enough right? since he doesnt have any Pro fight losses until today But do you guys think he will break Marcianos record?
Ring IQ is actually a way to categorize a fighter who exhibits the ability to strategize, adjust or adapt on the Fly. A lot of that is instinct.....a lot of that is the "6th sense" to anticipate and then being able to capitalize on the mistakes of your opponent. When they say a fighter is a great "Ring General"...what they mean is that fighter is cerebral....and a thinking fighter who has not just a pre-fight game plan but a plan B, C and D during the fight. Not all fighters operate this way. They have one speed, one gear and one way of fighting. The fighters with more wrinkles in their game are considered to have a higher "ring IQ". It really has nothing to do with ones actual IQ as it relates to everyday life. You could be a dumb mother****er with a low IQ and be a great dynamic boxer with a lot of dimension inside the ropes.
That's just plain bull****. If anything it shows how flawed and culturally biased IQ tests are (one of the first things they teach in psychology). Probably more to do with him flunking his army exam than his actual intelligence.
