Slight misquote, sorry, but you've admitted the rankings are your responsibility. Its poor form to break ranks and blame the other contributors when you are the person thats ulimately responsible. You don't see the Ring magazine blaming its ranking contributors for the Alvarez ranking, you would do well to take a leaf out of their book.
When it comes to the divisional rankings I can take respinsibility. But the P4P is done using a vote I have no control over other than calculating which 2 others posters helped me with. chad dawson was ranked in the top 5 by 85% of posters. i was as suprised as anyone and its the thing i get most grief about but there no fairer way to do it. tbh Dawson has more of a shout for being 3rd than Williams or Donaire who are 3rd and 4th with the Ring.
my point is Williams is 3 with the ring but you could make more of a case for Dawson being at 3 than Williams. my personal P4P would be 1) Mayweather 2) Pacquiao 3) Klitscko 4) Cotto 5) Mosley 6) Dawson 7) Williams 8) Martinez 9) Montiel 10) Ward
So The Ring rankings are at fault for having Williams at number 3 whereas the rankings supervised by you get a pass for having him at number 4 when both rankings seem to be complied in a similar fashion (ie by vote)? The fact your rankings then go on to make another mistake and have Dawson at 3 isn't really a defence either.
Thats not what I said. All i said is you could make a better case for Dawson being number 3 than Paul Williams. only 2 people from there panel are not from North America!! And when it comes to judging rankigns P4P is the last place you start as everyone has a different opinion. you can go through the ring and pick wholes everywhere. Danny Green is number 7 at Cruiserweight, Campillo isn't ranked at Light Heavy.....
Rob, I'm just ****ing with you. No ranking system is perfect, I wouldn't expect The Rings or yours to be. If you go in with an agenda and look for problems you'll find them. Don't forget it was the unfounded allegations of bias for GBP fighters that originally got you started in this thread. Trying to rank a P4P top 10 should be a bit of fun at best, I''ve never given a **** about them.
yeh I got that impression but I put allot of time and effort into those rankings so will be protective of them. everyone always slags of dawson being 3rd but what can you do a vote is a fair way of doing it....anyways theres a new one coming up this month so will be intresting to see what happens.
Fair enough, I can understand that. I made my points yesterday and last night and don't really have anything to add to that. I probably should have left it alone today but I felt The Ring corruption charges from 30+ years ago needed to be given a bit of balance and context and I got sucked in from there.
