How come no one uses these anymore? They used to be the standard on many TNF programs in the 90s and local boxing programs on HTS of DC fighters. The knockout rate with those things were high. I used to spar in those and had a couple of amateur fights in the 12 oz version of them as well and I swear it feels like getting hit by a brick regardless if your opponent can punch or not. I actually still have one 8oz professional Ringside fight glove from the 90s and that thing has little to no padding around the knuckles. Why did these gloves stop being used and how come punchers aren't requesting them?

I've wondered this recently too. Ringside makes good gloves but you never see any pro fighters wear them.

Anyone know the answer to this? I'm curious as well.
