I think any version of Rios would beat any version of Marquez.. The younger version of JMM the easier for RIos.. :thumbsup
Doubt this fight would happen. Matching up with fighters coming off of losses is something Pacquiao likes to do.
rios-provo is a great match up. heard provo told pac not to hurt rios that much, so he can fight him later lol
I agree that it would be a great matchup but he isn't currently rated by the WBO so needs to win a fight, against anyone in the top 10 really, before he gets a shot at Provo's belt. Allowing someone coming off 2 losses to back into a WORLD title shot is a terrible precedent to set IMO.
No, what he is is too slow, too unskilled and too flatfooted. ****ing Mike Alvarado outboxed him. Marquez would put on a clinic against that mummy. *******s are trying so hard to pump Rios up and make him look like some great win for Pacquiao, but he's just not. :bart
Mike Alvarado is much bigger than Marquez. Obviously, you haven't seen Kastidis vs Marquez. Perhaps, that doesn't hold much weight, because maybe that was Pre-Heredia Marquez, but I doubt Heredia can improve Marquez' punching power to such an extent that he can stop Rios. And the fact that Marquez is 40 is even worse for him. Rios is big enough, strong enough, and durable enough to wear Marquez down. Despite what you think of Rios, styles make fights. Does that mean Rios is a better fighter than Marquez? What do you think? It doesn't really matter what you think, Marquez won't take this fight. It's too tough of a fight for him, and even if he manages to win, he'll take a great deal of punishment. I don't think he can withstand Rios' body attack. Eventually, he'll be beat down and stopped or take one hell of an ass whuppin.
Rios hasn't beaten (or even looked decent against) anyone anywhere near the level of a JMM. He has a great chin and decent power, but he's slower than molasses and can't box worth a ****. He'd spend the whole fight moving forward at a snail's pace and getting punched in the face just like he always does.
I doubt Marquez is interested in fighting on undercards at this stage in his career. A Rios fight won't generate much money nor would it add anything to his legacy.
