Sad. Feels even worse for an active fighter, still had a lot to give IMO.

    talented fighter.

been unlucky over the last few years with injuries.

thought he was very unlucky against mayorga first time round.

really disagreed with that stoppage in the 1st fight. :nono

    2nd fight was well close.

    Horrible news.

I just wish he hadn't persued the carjackers. :( Let them go, call the police later. Life is too precious and despicable people won't think twice about killing you.

Vernon Forrest is a great guy, an inspiration of what we should be like.

A successful sportsman who strived to suceed at what he did. Backed up his career by investing sensibly. Helped others less fortunate than himself.

And in his last moments stood up to dangerous criminals.

Vernon was a class guy , i sppent a lot of time around him when he was putting a strong set of wins in his column and appearing on cards with Mike Grant... He never cussed, he was always smiling and always the first to help if anything was wrong... Vernon is just the man you would not want anything bad to happen to... if anyone.. I am staggered that gun deaths are so frequent lately.. i Loved the company of Vernon... can't say much else... God Bless..

Im pretty stunned. From what I read over the years about Forrest he was a great man and not a 'wanna be gangster' type that would have invited this type of end.

Ill never forget the whippings he gave to many peoples (at the time) p4p number 1 shane Mosley.
