RJ...1988...right before Olympic Trials...

    IMHO Paz was never going to beat Graham at 160. He's probably the best British fighter never to win a world title. Great fighter.

    They fought at 168... and yeah Bomber could REALLY BOX

    Ah sorry. My mistake.....Paz did well to fight at anything over 154 considering he was a natural Lightweight and not very tall.

    I remember him coming to the UK for that fight, he really knew how to work a crowd.

    Nah, Vinny didn't talk bad about Macho. Vinny is much different in person than you might think. I actually met Macho and his wife at the time back in 1994 when he was here looking for sparring. I wanted to work with him but I was too big so I brought two friends of mine to work a few rounds with him. Another time he fought here (against Luis Maysonette) and he came to our gym for a day of public training and to receive the key to the city. He gave interviews and sparred with a kid named Edgardo Vazquez. Like a lot of guys like him who have big public personas I actually found him to be pretty calm and humble in private and away from the cameras.

    Gerald and Roy were two of the most talented middleweights that USA had in the 80's and early 90's, We were quite spoiled as far as entertainment value goes...

    That was less than a month before the 1988 Olympic Trials..RJ was fighting at 156 and I was 165
