Well then we simply disagree. Jones never showed any flaws in his timing and certainly not his speed, which is overwhelming in both foot and hand. Your thoughts on his chin are based on the same guesswork that mine is. You are arguing that Jones always had an average or bad chin even though he showed no signs in his prime. You are trying to prove a negative, as am I.

But all of his other attributes are certainly that of an ATG and higher than most of them. His speed/power ratio may be greater than anyone else's ever. His timing was impeccable as was his sense of space.

I see Jack as a swarmer, yes. You don't? I see him as a much quicker one than Marciano as well. While Jack was wild, his speed would be the difference to me, as opposed to Marciano's plodding style. Marciano was not exactly hard to hit either. I'd favor Dempsey over Jonest at HW.

Also, I'd have to hear(though I'm sure I have before) why you favor Louis over Ali. Do you see him outboxing Ali? KO'ing him? How do you see him winning? Against a young Ali, I think Louis has a very good chance, but against Ali just pre-prison(around 66 and 67) I'd favor Ali a good deal, and I'd favor the Ali post-prison the first few years as well.

We don't have to do it at HW! We could maybe even do it at 175, though whisper it. I see swarming and pressure as different. Swarmers can be precision - normally this makes a fighter superior, and I feel Dempsey IS a superior fighter to Marciano - but where Jones is concerned I feel this is a bit of a disadvantage. Miss, die. But I favour Demspey.

This is all about the shoulder roll and the Ali jab. Louis has the best economical footwork of any heavyweight - ever. Though an incredible phycial specimin, and, in my view, the better figher overall, Ali's footwork is florid, excentric, in comparison. At the end of round nine, if Louis is more busted up by the Ali jab than Ali is tired, I pick Ali. If the reverse is true, Louis will stalk him. Keep Frazier. Keep Foreman. Louis is the best composite puncher of all time. Louis by ko14.

    BUT.

If i'm wrong, and ALi can bust up Louis with the jab in rounds 1 through 8 then Ali wins a wide points decision. I have no problem with that analysis, but that's not my pick.

if people can rate duran as top 5 atg then roy is easily top 5 as well. what did duran do in his career that outshone what jones did. duran was dominant in 1 weight class roy was untouchable through 4:deal

and please mention the leonard fight because james toney in 94 was a far more dangerous fighter than leonard ever was.

The latter is definitely my pick. Louis may have economical footwork, but it's still painfully slow, especially when compared to Ali's. I think a Napoles had similar footwork to Louis, but better because of his ability to change up the pace. Of course that's not a HW.

4 weight classes? I believe it was 3, learn to count. He had one fight at Heavy against the worst belt holder. You think he would've beaten any Heavy? Are you that stupid?

If I saw you on the street I'd break your legs.

Jones is overrated. 90's is too low in my opinion but most have him much too high.

    This really caught me funny.

Anyway, Duran isn't top 5. Top 10 though.
