Ruiz had just split a trilogy with Holyfield 1-1-1. After fighting Jones, he beat Hasim Rahman and Andrew Golota. Was Byrd really a significantly greater heavyweight at the time than Ruiz, to the point where Jones should be criticized for fighting Ruiz instead of Byrd?

Rico you KNOW if he had fought Byrd you would be on here now criticizing him for not fighting Ruiz.

Byrd was in fact IBF Champion when Ruiz and Roy fought. I also remember Byrd calling out Glass Jaw Roy after the fight, so yes you would be incorrect. Roy also did not immediatly drop his WBA belt he talked of future Heavyweight fights and in typical Glass Jaw Roy fashion dropped the belt.

If someone starts a thread to basically call someone a "sack of ****" then they are indeed representative of what is wrong with the General Forum.

No. I am saying Glass Jaw Roy could have stuck around and unified with Byrd AFTER the Ruiz fight. But he did not. Roy ducked Chris Byrd.

You're still not getting the point or twisting it. When Byrd fought and beat Holyfield, RJJ was already booked/signed to fight Ruiz even BEFORE that fight happen he was BOOKED to fight him and it was scheduled three months after Holyfield/Byrd took place. Which means THE FIGHT WAS SIGNED EVEN BEFORE BYRD WON THE IBF TITLE, get it or it's still confusing you?, if it is then you might want to check how things went back then and work a little bit harder on your hate as it's exposing your knowledge in every single post you make.

About what RJJ did after Ruiz was a case you're either denying because of your stupidity or you're just typing rubbish to gain some much needed attention to make people laugh at you. RJJ was already getting enough heat about fighting Tarver, people DEMANDED that fight and wanted to see it judging by the history these guys already had and all the talks surrounding it, so he was in a situation where if he ignored that fight a ****** like you would come and say he "ducked" Tarver or continue at Heavyweight and be called a cherry picker. Either way the likes of you weren't going to be satisfied.

If he had fought Byrd, he would have been ducking Lewis or Klitschko or Tyson or Brewster or Rahman, or countless others in your eyes. If he had fought Byrd, you would probably have said he was scared to go back to lhw and fight Tarver, and was ducking him. Because of the way you present yourself on here Rico, it's very difficult for anyone to take you seriously.

What does anything you just posted have to do with a Byrd/Jones unification fight after he beat Ruiz? It is YOU who does not understand. I am talking about Byrd and Jones fighting AFTER the Ruiz fight. That is the whole argument from the beginning you are the one that is twisting it.

Wrong, look at your first post, you said why didn't he fight Brewster or Byrd instead of Ruiz and now that you look foolish you're twisting it.

it doesn't change anything I have posted. I have never said Roy should have fought Lewis or Klitschko (who by the way was his mandatory)

The point is Roy dropped the WBA Heavyweight paper belt ran back to Light Heavyweight and got brutally KOed twice.

I NEVER said why did he fight Brewster or Byrd instead of Ruiz. It was why did he not stay at Heavyweight and fight Byrd or Brewster. Read my posts with Pacfan nuthugger.

You are twisting it and were incorrect.

Do you even know what the **** you are saying???

You're saying Chris Byrd would've beaten Roy Jones Jr:yikes

Rico, its widely understood by esb posters that you are a monstous Fail! Sadly you even think you're a decent judge of chins which again you fail horribly at....

I'm mystified why a reputable poster like Pacfan and Scar are even conversing with you.

Would you think more of him if he had never gone to heavyweight and won then?

I never said Roy should have fought Byrd or Brewster first. I said he could have stayed at Heavyweight and fought Brewster or Byrd who were smaller Heavyweights. That has been the whole argumemt on my part.
