Bugner was a lot better than he SHOWED. All the skills: jab, great set of whiskers, right hand power, a 'decent' left hook, size, etc...His problem was his 'left tit', failing when he had the chance to go to the next level. No signature wins, please don't nit pick. No signature wins. His best performance? Probably his across the pond showing against Frazier 6 months after Joe got demolished against Foreman. No one can deny that Joe was in 're-coop' mode in that one after having been handed his worst beat down ever! And Joe won, clearly. I continue to refuse to acknowledge kudos to a fighter whose best effort was in a losing cause.
And...I've grown sick of all the RJJ talk about how tough he was, or could have been, at Heavy. Ruiz was pan-fed to him, a fight that IMO he and his handlers knew he could win, given Ruiz's questionable skills.
