We all saw how many punchers Roy avoided at those weights and we have thanks to Loudon a quote from Big Roy about how his son isn't going to fight someone because they "punch too hard" even though this is Boxing. He was put on his ass and hurt by a non-entity in Lou Del Valle. All the signs are there. Even his dad admitted it.

I have seen that quote, and you made it out to be something it wasn't and ran with it. I have also SEEN Roy take some power shots in his prime.. He was occasionally hit you know, in pro boxing, you can't go through 4 weights with a glass jaw, i am sorry but I don't buy it for a second. His chin though not iron, was much better in his prime.
Golovkin is my favorite fighter right now but goddamn these fantasy match-ups are getting ridiculous.
Golovkin is on another level, I don't care how fast RJJ was, nobody can swim up a waterfall. Golovkin has the best offense I have ever seen, and it would be a nightmare for RJJ. Hopkins would do much better with his spoiling and holding.
Roy was faster, arguably hit harder, and has a much bigger arsenal of offensive weapons. When GGG starts stopping high caliber LHWs spectacularly with one punch in either hand, we can start making these comparissons.

I understand that picking GGG over RJJ seems like massive over-hype because GGG has not proven himself nearly as much on paper. I'm basing my choice simply by watching the two fighters. Yes RJJ is much faster, but he fought with a unique style that has since been solved (ambush). Gennady also fights with a unique style, and I feel his style is superior to RJJ's. There has to be a reason for Gennady's much more stellar Amateur record don't you think? 345-5 is better than 121-13. Roy's style isn't as effective. Two styles that I think Golovkin would not be good at solving are Hopkins and Ward.
I respect your opinion, but when was Roy's style solved? Regarding their amateur records, I think GGG had too many fights. Roy turned pro when he was 20, and GGG turned pro when he was 24. It doesn't tell us a lot. It's a great record, but he simply had many more fights that's all.
