Well to be fair, Pac wanted Morales to come in at 130 and for what was it? the second or third fight? Morales was really pushing for 132 wasn't he?

However I agree with your post. I don't know why the onus is on Pac to give up all the advantages here. I don't know why Mayweather isn't held to the same standard by the ones that trash Pac. Surely, Hatton would have had a better chance at 140 vs Mayweather than 147.

I don't like to see fighters fight weight drained, it bothers me actually. However, who wants to see a small guy bulked up, slowed down, and taking far bigger shots than he should? That is stupid too.

Pac is a smaller man physically than Cotto. Pac is surrendering far more by going up to 145 than Cotto is, in my opinion.

If Pac avoiding Mosley is a ***** move, than what does that make Mayweather's entire career?

Mosley, Cotto and Floyd are all extremely dangerous fights for Pac, all for different reasons. I feel the same tho that Mosley is the most dangerous, followed by Cotto then Floyd, in terms of Pac getting KO'd and overwhelmed, however, Floyd would have the best chance at solving Pac's entire offense and just shutting him down although I am not saying he would do it. There is a good chance Pac would beat Mayweather too.

Piston Honda, but that was in the minor circuit. He couldn't get past Mr. Sandman on the world stage.

Whether it's 145, 147, 140 or whatever an excuse will be there anyway. If they can't hold on to a weight excuse then Cotto is shot.

This is good news! If Cotto says that 145 wont be a problem for him, then there shall be no excuses! Pac will once again get full credit if he wins this one!!!!

All I have to say is roach is full of ****...If he isnt worried about weight then why isnt the fight being fought at 147??? Why was he pushing for 143??? Why does he kept talking about Cotto being a big man???

If never fought DLH @ 147, then I would say ok 143 is cool. Now he has a chance to prove people wrong and fight a young strong fighter at his peak @ 147 and show that he really is that great. To me it's like trying to cheat and use ur advantage to win. :nono

145 is great. Its only 1 pound south of Cotto's last fight a couple weeks ago. Why doesn't Cotto come to 140. By you guys saying Cotto can't give up 2-3 pounds. Then suggesting Pac should give up 7.
i think you guys have already predetermined Pac is the better fighter. Why else would you want Pac to give up all that weight advantage unless you were already fearing for your fighters safety.

:good I agree! Great post. Look....no matter what all these fights can go either way. Its just when you have momentum and a GREAT track record in BIG fights your best bet is to side with the one with momentum. The weight and size differences make these fights even more compelling and harder to predict.

Only Pac's fanantics care about how Pac beat Dlh and Hatton supposedly better than Floyd. Floyd's never been stopped and PAc has, yet I don't try that weasel approach unless i'm talking to a Pac fanatic who says the above. Floyd might be called a legend on his record and skills alone, along with his comp. Pac also. Both fighters are not legends yet. Both can become one with a win over the other.

Cotto isn't the type to make excuses...just look at how he dealt with the whole Margo situation. Unfortunately Boxing fans are less prone to NOT making excuses.
