That should've been evident from the time he fought Limond

People went overboard about the Maidana win, he nearly got stopped by a crude brawler. He needs to work on his defence but I still think Khan has got a lot of quality about him and can win a world title again.

It's worrying that Khan has two KO losses to guys that aren't exactly murderous punchers. Prescott isn't much better than a journeyman, and Garcia is just a middling kinda world level fighter.

Peterson.... a boxer turned diesel tractor of a pressure fighter. Average as **** in all departments.

yo if khan can bounce back and serves up well..i will tip my hat to him and pay him his dues..It's pretty hard to even think that especially any top level guy..I will be happy if he proves me wrong!

I read this story and the this part is superb...

"Shah Khan, told him that if he gave up Manny Pacquiao and Chavez as clients that Khan would stay with him (a ridiculous request, by the way).

Khan apparently felt like he wasn't getting enough attention from Roach with those other fighters around.
Roach said Shah Khan contacted him in recent weeks suggesting it again.

"I thought it was unusual they would ask and I left it as: 'Let me think about it,'" Roach said.
Roach was trying to be polite, but there is nothing to think about. Roach has no intention of leaving behind Pacquiao or Chavez, whose camps have sometimes overlapped with Khan's."

If that is true... amazing :rofl

We are going to see alot of this now that Roach has lost one of his cash cow.

I didn't like Roach predicting a KO win for Khan every fight which never made sense.
Also, I do beleive the Maidana win and taking LAmont's roid punches made Khan too overconfident about his chin.

Perhaps if Roach had given Amir a slap after round 2 of the Garcia fight and told him what everyone could see, that Garcia was starting to time his right hand, he wouldn't be needing to slate Amir.
I am by no means a fan of Khan, i think he is a tool the way he talks etc, but Roach's comment just smacks of bitterness.

sage words from roach. its no wonder hes so highly thought of.

but seriously, khans had a great career, but hes found his level. hes not quite elite but hes very good, with possibly the worst chin in the game.

good post. The thing with Hatton and Khan is they're just too thick and arrogant to accept their eggy chins need good care and protection.

The issue is that hyped up fighters and boxing fans are conditioned to not accept defeats as a natural part of boxing. So when a fighter loses, the reaction is to insist something is amiss; the training, the opponent, the attitude, the gloves, the referee...whatever. There is an inquest and soul searching, when all that's needed is acceptance. Khan, and plenty of other talented but hyped fighters, just need to hold their hands up and say: "Yeah, I got beat by a better guy on the night, that's boxing, next time I will try harder". How refreshing that'd be.

    Good post.

Even fighters with bad chins that tried to overly evasive have been caught.

    Amir has no chance.

Problem is that most fans of Khan seems to think he has to be great so they assume something is amiss.

He will never outdo what he has already achieved. For his ability and natural strength he has overachieved already.

I have never seen anyone at the top level with a worse chin than Amir Khan.

  15. It's possible, but most times the guy with the weak chin has advantages.

    Foreman was ancient
Haye was small and himself had weak chin

There's no reason khan can't have a decent career, I mean he can forget the ATG talk and all that rubbish.

But if he gets his head out of his arse and only fights Punchers when absolutely necessary, and fights safety first against them,

Then he can be a belt holder, and have a few decent wins, he can make money too as the casuals will easily be roped back in
