“Cotto telegraphs his punches. He’s the boss in his camp, in the gym and in the corner. But he can’t watch himself. He can’t see what his mistakes are. You need to have someone watching you every day, watching your everyday habits and tendencies."

On Roach's prediction of Cotto 1st round KO:

“If Manny hurts him in the first, Manny will finish him. I just said that really to get a rise out of the Cotto camp. If they had ignored me, that’s fine but they responded to that so maybe it’s in their heads now.

Roach is a genius. After his prediction in the dela Hoya and Hatton fight, I tend to believe everything he says in boxing.

I can't do a master analysis in boxing like Roach but I really don't see him telegraph punches. He now has a much wider arsenal with a snapping jab and a strong right hand. I don't think he's exeptional at anything but very good at evreything. This, included with the strength adavantage, can be enough to overpower the Pac-Man. Interestingly Pacquaio used to widely telegraph his punches but he has too developed his arsenal from 1-2's to evreything. Will make for a great fight.

Now I do agree with Roach in saying he needs someone in his corner to keep it real with him if he makes mistakes but I hope he's not looking at this fight like the Hatton fight ..Cotto is very good at ad******g in mid fight ..So all that telegraph crap is hot air right now ..

I do agree he needs a hard man in his corner to keep him 'honest'

Yeah Cotto needs a world class trainer to help him improve.

People need to realise that Roach only releases these statements to remind Team Cotto know of the competitiveness going in to the fight. He did the same things with the Hatton and Oscar fights.

Don't think for one minute he is underestimating Cotto.

Cotto or any boxer for that matter definitely needs a more knowledgeable and experienced coach who will point out to him his weakness at any time in his training. That's how it is done in all sports training.

“Don’t forget that Zab Judah had Cotto hurt.”

I don't see what Freddie is getting at here. The Cab Drivers also had Manny hurt... but I'm pretty sure everyone is over that.... except for Nallege.

I agree with you but Pacquiao can get away with it because of his ridiculous speed!

hard to say from the little we see but from the clips cooto's training seems sluggish compared to pac's and i wonder if no one has the balls to tell him to get his ass in gear.

pure speculation but i hope its a facade for the cameras as am a big miguel fan, tho love pac to so no way i will be sad after this fight, so long as floyd mans up and fights the winner!

I see roach trying to give unsolicited advice but is actually trying to get to cotto's head. Nice mental game freddie like nobody knows what you're trying to do.

Freddie is telling us that Cotto is not invincible. He has his weakness that Manny can exploit in the first one.
