Thats what i really wanna know. Coz if it's a same day weigh in DLH is ****ed! he will be to weak to reach 12 rounds.
this is not a same-day weigh in. dlh and pac are free to rehydrate after the weigh-in 24 hrs before the fight.
dlh is not a fool to agree to a same day weigh-in. seven years ago, pac fought in an undercard against ledwaba. he was still at 122lbs and that was his first fight in the US, the first time ever that larry merchant caught a glimpse of pac. the main-event was DLh vs. castillejo andthat was at 154lbs. now why would dlh agree to fight weighing in at 147 lbs. without being allowed to rehydrate.
now where is the roach-floyd snr. verbal slugfest? that's the one i want to see. why is floydie all to silent now that the hype has begun?
Do you think or are you plain hater!? He is just being realistic. I myself does not believe PAC will win at 147lbs coz it's too far from his comfortable weight. What more if you add 3 more pounds! 147lbs MAX limit that Roach believes Pac CAN win so anything over that will be more disadvantagous to PAC... I really thought that you know about weight issues about boxing.. but your comments shows otherwise
roach should have had this fight set at 140 just to gain every advantage they know dlh had a hard time making below 150 and still they insist on it($$$$$$$$$)

De La Hoya’s close boyhood friend and Golden Boy Promotions vice president Eric Gomez said in an overseas telephone conversation with www.insidesports.ph, Manila Standard and Viva Sports that “Oscar is already training.”He said De La Hoya set up a pre-camp in Puerto Rico and “started running and doing light exercises but he will start his boxing camp in Big Bear in October.” Gomez expressed confidence that De La Hoya would make the stipulated 147 pound limit for the Pacquiao fight saying “ that’s something a lot of people don’t know about Oscar.” Gomez revealed that De La Hoya had “to build himself up to fight at 154 pounds and he used to eat a lot of proteins and stuff to get up in weight. He never used to diet. He ate whatever he wanted. “ Gomez said that now its just “a matter of dieting and eating the right food to make the weight.” He said De La Hoya was with him in Los Angeles last week and weighed in at 153 “without even starting boxing. That’s his natural weight. He won’t have a problem making the weight. He’ll be fine.” Gomez said De La Hoya “is a consummate professional and he knows what he has to do. He is a veteran and he knows that it’s very important for him to be well within his weight.” Gomez said De La Hoya laughed off the imposition by Team Pacquiao of a fine of $3 million for every pound or fraction thereof over the 147 limit. He said “make it $5 million it doesn’t matter. He is going to make the weight.”
Roach has got to be talking about DLH making the contracted weight limit at the official weigh-in. .....if he's talking about fightnight, I think the last time DLH stepped into a ring weighing less than 150 lbs, he was actually fighting for a bogus 130 lbs title against Jimmy Bredahl. When DLH fought as a welterweight, he routinely stepped inside the ring weighing 160 lbs or higher. Obviously Roach cannot expect DLH to weigh no more than 150 lbs on fightnight....... .....if so, where the hell was Roach, when as a 126 and a 130 pounder, Manny Pacquiao routinely walked into the ring weighing well above 140 lbs? Newsflash Freddie, you want the accolades for Pac and yourself of beating a bigger fighter by climbing 2 weight divisions (actually 3 divisions, when you consider Pac has'nt fought a legit skilled 135 pounder just yet) but Roach does'nt want the bigger man to be the bigger man that night!:rofl :rofl :rofl I think what may be happening now that the fight has been signed, is that reality has set in with Freddie Roach, and he's already laying the groundwork for the excuses that will come after his fighter gets crushed.
