Manny could not come in at over 150 without either gaining muscle and losing speed or gaining fat and Hopkins cant likely get under 168 or so if he killed himself. So, if the fight did happen, it would be a poor showing for each guy imo, but a weight drained old ass B-hop would probably win a grueling decision over a blown up slowed down version of Pacquiao. It would be uglier than Hopkins-Wright.

If it were Floyd who would meet Hopkins at 165 then I see him winning a decision simply because of his superb defense.:good

Pacquiao meeting Hopkins even at 150 will still see a slick Hopkins get the edge. This is because Hopkins fights almost like Floyd, the only thing going against him is his age. :deal

You (and most others) are looking at this a bit askew.

If Haye fights Vitali, he's coming in at around 215, he won't move up to match Vitali's 245.

When Jones fought Ruiz, he came in at 195 or so, not Ruiz's 225.

Pac would come in at around 150 for both weigh-in and on fight night.

Bernard would come where he's been the vast majority of his career, 160.

On fight night he would weigh around 172.

Pac would have a bigger speed advantage than Mayweather had over Baldo. This would be the greatest disparity in speed for Pac over the past seven years. And by far, the fastest Bernard has ever faced.

    Yes, faster than 93 Roy.

Bernard has a much better defence than Marg, but he would get hit.

Not as hard as Pascal will hit him, but a lot more often. The volume would take its toll.

If he goes after Pac, he will get exhausted, and his power is probably no greater at this point than Margs.

If he doesn't go after Pac, he will get pot-shotted to a wide decision.

His best hope is to impose his superior size and strength. He is considerably better than Marg was, but his work rate and stamina these days is inferior to the Mexican's.

In absolute terms, prime Hopkins is superior head-to-head to Pac.

But Bernard's prime is long gone.

In a MW bout in March 2011, I would favour Pac.
