I had Manny repetitiously practicing that right hook over and over again.......I knew that Hatton was a sucker for that right hook. I studied alot of tape of Hatton and he cocks the left too far back every single time that he's a sucker for the right hook"......... ....yabbba yaddda yadddda..... I, I, I, I, ...... At the end of the day, you said it with the last sentence of your post......not just any fighter can counter such deficiencies in Hatton's armor.....so I think Roach is going to far in his "I" attitude....... ......I said it in a different thread, imo the real credit goes to Pacquiao, because alot of trainers, in fact most trainers pick up on the same thing Roach does...... ....but what Roach has is a special type of figher that can be programmed to counteract a specific flaw in a fighters arsenal....... Pac it seems can be instructed, "I want you to do this when he does this"........and he'll pick it up and perfect it in the gym......He's likely the best in boxing at it...... .....imo, where Pac is going to have trouble is exactly fighters like JMM who make just the ever so slight of an adjustment that what Pac practiced in the gym to counteract is all of a sudden null and void to the point where he's all of a sudden having a hard time being effective.
I'm afraid he'll be a shot fighter after Floyd. Remember Morales after he lost to Raheem? Perfect alibi for the Pac unbelievers.
The heavier the weight goes the better for Pac, and worse for Marquez. Pac almost knocked out Marquez in the last fight. He got him dazed at the end of the round following him to his corner.
Divac: Yeah, he said those things, but in the end, he also says that it's Manny that makes him look good. He has said before that trainers are overrated, himself included, and the fighter's the one who does all the real work. Yeah, I know that Freddie just rubs you the wrong way, and some of the things he say may be annoying, and to you, that gets amplified because you dont really like his style.
Where the hell did you hear that from Nacho????? I'm calling you a liar right now, plain and simple! JMM has said that against Pacquiao, he feels confident that he can beat him at any weight...."if he wants the fight at 147 lbs, we can do it there."....the words of JMM. When before they fought at 130 lbs, JMM had given Pac the choice of 130 or 135 lbs if he wished.....Roach chose 130lbs because he knows that moving up in weight benefits the boxer.
Naw dude, I saw it on youtube. It's before Pac - Hatton. more like weeks before Pac Hatton. Check it if you want. Why would I need to lie something? Like if im gonna get some prize for that ****. Roach choosed 130 because Marquez has the belt of 130. They can't fight at 135 and win a belt of 130. Isn't it the rules mate? They choose Mayweather because its a big money fight, and taking out Mayweather gives Marquez camp to call out Pacquiao and have a right to dictate a 3rd match.
Am I reading this right... 43% of the forum think Pacquiao would knock Marquez out in 3 rounds? The same guy who arguably beat Pacquiao twice, if not he has at least won more rounds in their fights...? I'm shocked!
Point blank Bula......Roach has no freaking business disrespecting JMM like that, especially consideing that more people than not thought Marquez beat his fighter. Roach said it himself after their last fight with JMM, "it could have just as easily gone to him, and we would not have complained." He's disrespecting a fighter he knows beat his, and imo its just a classless thing for Roach to do. The thing that irks me the most my friend, is that Roach is talking this **** knowing that there is a strong chance that Mayweather is going to beat Marquez, and so a third Pac fight would then likely go out the window........ ....its like by demeaning JMM, he launching a pre-emptive strike to diminsh a possible Mayweather victory no matter how impressive....... ....its like, yeah, Mayweather may have dominated to an easy decision, but my guy knocks JMM out in 3 (without having to prove it)........excuse my language, but that ****ing classless! It goes on and on with Roach....."All Mayweather had to do is wait one more day!" ....as if JMM is a second class citizen Mayweather settled too.... Who the **** does Roach think he is? By now he must think his ass smells like roses!
Because it's a higher weight now and pac has more power and looks far better than JMM at this higher weight. If diaz could trouble JMM which he did I have no doubts that This version of pac will destroy his next 3 opponents in a similar fashion to hatton.
Roach isn't disrespectful, he just calls it as he sees it. And you know what, as crazy as the things he says are, he's usually right. Oscar couldn't pull the trigger anymore, Hatton does telegraph his hooks. Does saying that diminish Pac's accomplisments? Of course not! That's why boxers have trainers, too come up with gameplans and train the boxers in a way the suits the gameplan. It's the boxers job to implement it. Roach simply explained his gameplan to the rest of us. So Roach came up with a gameplan, and it was the right gameplan. He deserves respect for that. But doing is much much more difficult than saying, Pacquiao did it and gets 95% of the love and respect for it, Roach gets 5%. Roach himself admitted that trainers are overrated and that it's the fighters that should get the credit. Plus, how much airtime does Nacho get anyway? How the hell can roach just "STFU" when he's being interviewed left and right? Would you really want him to just do a Pac and just say "I'm just doing my job" every single interview? So is he being disrespectful to JMM by saying Pac can KO him in 3? I don't think so. I think he really believes that and I don't think it's such a stretch that he can. I personally think Pac can do just that, I'm not saying he most definitely will but he most certainly can.
He's not disrespecting Marquez when he said that Manny can knock out Marquez in 3 rounds. He's an extraordinary trainer. He has proven himself rightmany times in the things he said in the past. He knows his fighter well just as he knows the competition like the back of his palm. He studies their styles and weaknesses for hours and designs strategies to beat them. He knows that Marquez is getting weaker and slower as he goes up in weight. If he was able to survive the first round in the first fight, I don't think w/ Manny's increased power in the 140, Marquez will survive the round. This time Roach knows how to beat Marquez decisively. Trust Roach, dude. He may appear dissing your boy but he's not.
pac has improved since marquez. you must be blind not have noticed this. pac will beat marquez if they ever fought again. pac has the right hook now and defence beter than ever.
Amen!!! hatton thought that freddie was disrespecting him too when he said the fight doesnt go past 3 rounds and we all know what happened there... its not disrespect, its just the truth (for freddie that is).....
Good post from a newbie. :good Divac is pretty emotional about his idol. He thought people are disrespecting him when they're not. He's got paranoidal tendencies after seeing what Pac can do in l40. Let's allow him to settle down.
Lol, thanks. Long time forums reader, newbie poster That 2nd round KO shocked me so much that I couldn't not start posting about it.
