Roach on Barrera's handwraps

check the date of the article guys its says feb. 6 of 2009, about a week after the mosley fight this is old news...

and remember roach came-out and said that tony called him, and begged him roach to train him...and was in tears almost....

this is a **** thread because its very old news....check the date....

 

Yup, this is old, the first interview was much older, the day after the fight i think. I didnt know about the ruling about illegal wraps then, i thought that if you get caught after the fight, it is only then will you be punished, and being corrected before the fight was ok, since MAB was not given anything.:huh

 

wraps or no wraps he didnt get caught so theres nothing anyone can do about it

 

It is old news.......and I mentioned it back then how dissapointed I was in Roach for not taking it further to the public and the State Athletic commision to impose fines and penalties on not only MAB, but the person that wrapped MAB's hands.......

I dont understand how Roach can publicly accuse MAB like that and not be embarrassed for not demanding something be done about it.......

Why did'nt the commsion impose penalties on MAB???
Why was'nt his handwraps confiscated for testing???


Why did those BAFFOONS from HBO not state that Roach had caught MAB with illegal "plastered" handwraps.
HBO made a stink about it with Margarito, but kept silent on the matter with MAB which they adored!


HBO has always been all high and mighty to accuse boxing orginizations and commisions, but this to me would prove they're no better than them, when they play favorites with MAB, but are quick to pull the trigger to comdemn Margarito.


Btw, Freddie Roach is an absolute moron and an idiot for even mentioning and putting MAB through the mud, when he did'nt have the balls to demand something be done about MAB trying to plaster his wraps, if indeed thats what happened, as with Roach, you've got to take anything he say's now with a grain of salt.

 

I also think the margo situation was also made a big deal by richardson, mosley's trainer.....he did interview after interview about margo's wraps....and the media really jumped on margo, and then the fans jumped on margo IMV.......i remember lampley that night made refrence to it, but did make it shock and awe......the media blew this out of proportion and then the fans jumped margo right after that....

still what margo did is wrong, but i am one of the few posters that have been more sympathetic to margo, and I think he should be given a second chance, based on there is no conclusive evidence he cheated in any of his other fights, am i skeptical? of course, but facts are facts...

i think it has something to do with Pac having the opportunity to fight MAB, he may have been too excited about it too. The commentators did mention the incident, thats why it took so long for the fighters to come out. But yeah,
someone should have pushed for a punishment, but i guess they decided not to because Pac won convincingly anyway. If it turned out the other way, i wont be surprised if they filed right after.

 

Hell ya, and he would have said something when he was complaining about Marco before. First he said Marco had too much tape, now he says Marco had plaster.

Freddie ****ing HATES Marco and I don't know why.

 

They didn't impose penalties etc because it didn't happen. If it HAD happened it would have been major news. Roach has a hardon for MAB and it pisses me off. I want to like Freddy because of what he's going thru and what he's accomplished and the type of fighter he was, but his constant shittalking of fighters, especially MAB, and his control mania about Pac and the way he runs to the press anytime he thinks his grip over Pac is slipping is really disappointing.

 

IIRC, Roach usually demands re-wrapping an opponent's hands because of illegal overuse of bandaging wrap. He does that stuff all the time to make sure that the wrap is of legal thickness, and he also does that to **** off the other camp a bit and give them extra work.

 

Roach has alluded to it, noting how observant he is to watch the other fighter getting wrapped, so much so that he's said something to the effect, "I'm a ***** as far as nitpicking at the way a fighter wraps and making them re-wrap."


......but why Roach is still at it dragging MAB through the mud, when he did'nt have the balls to do something about it when he could is beyond me.:huh

What I want to know is...when they catch a guy using plaster, do they tell the other guy's camp about it before the fight?
