You can't blame Hatton's foolish pride on Mayweather Sr. He did nothing different in this fight that he did against Collazo or even Paulie for that matter. Hatton is not an elite fighter. He has always been a fighter that was hyped by his countrymen and never proved to be as good as advertised. His biggest victory was against Tszyu who was years past his prime. He showed no nerves, no smarts, and no chin in this fight and was totally blown away. He is, and will always be a one gear fighter(forward) with no ring smarts. :dead

Roach's fighter obeyed him, had learned from him. Mayweather's fighter was no different as he was before Mayweather dispensed his great wisdom. If he didn't listen to Floyd, that is Floyd's failing because he is supposed to command authority and respect. Therefore, Roach succeeded and Mayweather failed.

This is nonsense you usually have good post.

If a fighter doesnt obey the trainer its the trainers fault and the trainer is overated?

Is emmanuel steward overrated because of Taylor not listening to him?

Roach is genius for working on that right hook so hatton moved to his right to avoid it........into the feared left.

If a trainer cannot make any difference to a fighter, then in that instance he has failed as a trainer. If you disagree, then you are saying fighters shouldn't even bother having trainers. Talk sense.

But that is what Ricky has always done and the posts around this place in the last week said that was going to spell doom for Pac Man! All I read was how he was bigger than Manny and was going to take him out with the first body shot......because manny cant handle body shots!

I said all along, Ricky lunges way too much and manny was going to catch him. After that last left I thought he broke Ricky's neck, the way he stiffened up and didnt move!

Hey to be fair, Hatton wasn't that good to begin with.
It doesn't matter what Hatton or Floyd could have done different, Pacquiao would have always beat the **** out of Hatton.

But a "great" trainer (as Floyd and his followers say he is) would have been able to instil at least some defensive structure and discipline into his fighter. Floyd failed abysmally to do so. If Hatton ignored his commands, then that is as much a failing of Floyd as it is of Hatton. A great trainer has authority and respect, he is not ignored by his fighter from the start of the fight onwards.

Its up to the FIGHTER to execute, trainers can only tell a fighter what to do. Hatton didnt even move his head ffs, i guess thats Snr fault too because even though he told Ricky to move his head, ricky still didnt obey:roll:.
